The oil man has been.  Just as well as OH let the level get very low and I've had windows open all afternoon letting in fresh sunny but cold air while we clean as well as releasing the pongs of mango chutney which is now reducing nicely on the hob.   Final batch of blood orange and chilli marmalade next.

The new magpie nest in the poplar tree is growing apace, the buzzards are mewing and the small brown jobs are very busy and vocal.  I even saw 2 storks doing what looked like a mating flight over a paddock I can see out of our upstairs windows.  Wonderful.

I see all the funny writing has gone. I had a PM from Nora so she must have magicked it away! Thank you Nora.

The snowdrops were lovely, but not as thick carpets of them as we saw at Walsingham a few years ago. Enjoyed the visit though. We also went on the Reedham Ferry to the pub and had a beer and a sandwich, really fresh bread.

Although cold, we had a busy day clearing brambles. Very therapeutic.

I hope all goes well tomorrow BL.

    Devon.
  • I agree BL ... there's nothing quite like the snowdrops at Walsingham ... but they've been there since medieval times ...... the drawback with visiting there are the crowds and the difficulty parking.  Glad you had a nice day ... the gardens at Raveningham are old but not as old as Walsingham image  they're being worked on year on year ... I love going back and revisiting as there's always another area that's being re-vamped.

Love going on Reedham Ferry too image

Road still closed, so OH is going to have to walk the last half mile, she is not happy.

    Getting very cold again here.

  • Dacha ... I remember taking Russian rellies clothes shopping ... none of them wanted to bother with the changing rooms ... just a quick gathering around of the few of us and new clothes were tried on, discussed, taken off and bought.

While we're talking ... on the food board I'm a member of we're having a discussion re kefir ... not many of them have tried it ... I have ... I wasn't that enthusiastic but to be fair the bottle had travelled from Russia in my son's luggage.  All the Russian ladies I know are enthusiastic about the health-giving properties of kefir ... my guess is that your BH likes it ... do you?

  • Dove , open anyone's fridge in Russia and you will find kefir , along with smetana (sour cream) and of course mayonnaise. My wife loves it but I am not into it at all ....the texture makes me heave image
