Re the weather I think we will definitely get this cold snap here. We went for a walk up at the local farm & we saw the biggest flock of Fieldfares I have ever seen there. They always come over when the weather on the near continent is bad.
Lovely meals ahoy by the sounds. I love the sound of Ob's lamb, Wonky's apple crumble, Dove's bacon hock, raisin's meatballs (no chai tea though - not for me ?) and Busy's steak! Probably not all in one sitting though!
I have gone with faithful old sausages with some roasted root veg.
Just done Sunday hair-wash so thought I'd put the PJs on now - I love a Sunday evening post gardening, post shower and awaiting oven delights.
Oh - we had Fieldfares in the garden in December, Iain - I wonder if they stayed or do they pop back if they get chilly??
Our lamb was delicious. Bit of a bodge as the recipe called for lemons but I've non left on my wee tree so used sumac instead. Have to bodge a fair bit here as I can't always get basics like fresh chillies.
Parked on a sofa ow with a log fire lit and waiting to talk to Possum who calle during dinner accusing me of trying to kill her. Apparently I've left a pin in the collar of one of her new blouses, right near her carotid artery. Drama queen.
Busy - loads of snow in Belgium over the years and regular dips to -20C and worse some years. Here in the Vendée we're just 20kms or so in from the coast and snow is rare. Farmer Luc's grandson is 7 and has never seen it. His sister, aged 15 can barely remember it.
Looks like France is going to get very cold in the next few days so don't count on any warm stuff coming from here for the UK.
Did anyone see the alpacas on Countryfile? Aren't they just the most gorgeous but slightly comical characters?
Vendée - 20kms from Atlantic coast.

"Sounds as though votes for ex-pats could happen? I lifted this from BBC Politics:
“A 96-year-old war veteran is celebrating after his campaign to get the vote for all British expatriates moved a step closer to success. Harry Shindler, who lives in Italy, said he had cracked open a bottle of wine as MPs approved the second reading of a bill to remove the 15-year limit on UK expats voting in elections. “We are really on our way now," he told BBC News. "I am coming up on 97 - we are going to get this in before 100." Extending votes to all expats with no time limit is a Conservative Party manifesto promise from the 2017 election. But it is being introduced into law as a private member's bill, sponsored by Conservative MP Glyn Davies. 'Mr Shindler, who is a member of the Labour Party, said he was "very proud" of the British political system, after losing a number of court battles over the years. “They have done a good job, without making party politics come into it," he said. The Second Word War veteran has lived in Italy for 35 years but gave up the chance of Italian citizenship to fight his campaign for expat votes”.

Alpacas look so incongruous in the British countryside and so at home in South America
