Pdoc - I can barely cope with him for half an hour on GW. Certainly couldn't work for or with him!
Clari - you need to have words with your man about couple having holidays together when it involves something they both like. I happily let OH go off to play golf but there has to quid pro quo.
Feeling broken at the mo. I asked OH if he wanted to come with me to La Roche and then have lunch out and he said yes but first he needed to see the end of a curling match and set up another to record and then he needed to change. Tum-te-tum…. Finally got outside and I promptly tripped headlong over a metal bracket he’d left lying on the drive. It’s thin rusty metal, 9" wide and U shaped and he’s been using them to hold down weed fabric in the potager. I landed hard on both knees, jarred my back and hands and nearly concussed myself on the car bumper. Much effing and then back inside and upstairs to clean hands, apply arnica to knees, change jeans and coat. Knees swollen up like Charentais melons now and very sore and stiff.
Managed to get what I needed at the fabric shop tho and do a raid on the Asian store and SM and then have lunch out at a place in the middle of a shopping centre car park which does good local food, some North African dishes and really good burgers with named beef and the best chips I’ve had anywhere. We both had Savoyard with rare Charolais beef, smoked duck, Tomme de Savoie cheese and a mustardy sauce. Lovely buns too. Not a Valentine heart or red rose in sight thankfully.
Had a snoozle when we got home cos walking is difficult. Dancing will be interesting tomorrow.

Oh! Obelixx ((hugs)) poor you ... that sounds like me when I tripped over the step and landed on my face in the flower pots, breaking my wrist .... my knees were so sore. Do take it easy for a little while ... that sort of impact can really shake us up and strain ligaments etc. Mind you, that meal sounds very restoring

Clari the bonus to that holiday destination is a womble close by for madcap antics!
Obelixx your poor knees! Think I'd have gone for the meal by myself after that!!! Your very forgiving obviosly , I hope you feel less sore soon!
Raisingirl, I'm with Joyce xx, those are the best moments, I treasure every occasion like that!
Had a fun time today exploring our shed. Its been full since we moved in of boxes of stuff that's been dumped and I've just found some amazing pictures!!! And a Victorian scrapbook! There are nearly a hundred pictures I should think! The things people dump!
It was Dove and I think the couple of glasses of Chinon helped too. It's a very popular lunch place with all sorts of people from shoppers to office mates to road teams. Great atmosphere and very good value. Sensible too with wine sold by the glass, 25cl, 50cl and bottle. Not hungry but need to eat a little something so I can take some anti-inflammatories.
Is your knee OK now or are you still doing physio?

I can imagine the Chinon being just what you needed
I'm still doing the exercises ... I do them whenever I sit down, it's become a habit ...the AC ligament will not repair without a graft so it's strengthening the other ligaments around the bad knee that's the plan now. The problem is that while I was laid up with the broken foot the ligaments around the 'good knee' became slack and while we were on holiday I wrenched it, and that's the one that's causing the pain. The bad knee isn't painful ...... it just gives way underneath me from time to time ... hence the use of a walking stick if I'm walking about out somewhere ... especially if I'm without OH.
I've started playing gentle indoor tennis again ... just one short game a week so far ... and I don't push shopping trolleys ... OH comes shopping with me and does the donkey work

At the marketing meeting, who said "I know the perfect gift - cacti" ?!?! Or have the SMs just put a Valentine sticker on everything?!
