I think 'cowboys' became a derogatory term once real farmers rather than ranchers became established in the US. Cowboys herded the cattle to a fresh area grazed the grass to a dustbowl and moved on ...
Think 'cowboy builder' is used pretty much across the English-speaking world .........
Having been married to a very good builder in a previous existence (Wonky's Papa) I have no knowledge of any other pejorative for members of that profession ......... well, none that are suitable for this forum

Sausages here too Pdoc but with mustardy and oniony Puy lentils and Savoy cabbage from the garden. Are you improving at all in terms of how much you can do/how far you can walk? Hope so.
Only 16 ladies at patchwork group today but they ate all 24 of my muffins. Good job I left a few at home for OH. It is perishing cold out there with added wind chill and all of them were bemoaning the forecast for snow tomorrow. We'll see.
Either way it's too cold to garden so I shall do patchwork homework. We have been asked to make articles to display and some to sell at an expo in 2019! Nothing like forward planning.
Might ask OH to light a fire this evening.
Hope the new carpet base goes down well Busy and that you can get to your dacha soon DL.

Hi everyone! Fairly new here, registered a few months ago but never got around to write until a few days ago.
I live in Sweden so I garden (or actually farm as I run a smallholding) in a bit cooler climate, but want to learn more due to climate change, we have for example started having problems with droughts, so i'm looking around in the world online for different takes on solutions to gardening problems, but also discovering new vegetabels etc.
