Phew! That took me ages to catch up with everyone.
lovely to see you DD and glad thst Charlie is adjusting so well.
welcome Fire Lily. I’m in southern Australia so I know all about drought. We are 11 hours ahead of UK, so I have limited time to “chat“. When they are awake, I’m asleep. We have 100 acres of basically bushland, but I love my vegetable and herb growing In a small space near the house.
Lilyp, you should have a stern talk to you clever dog!
I'm doing my bit to stop us all freezing by loading up the woodburner at 4am and now I can't sleep.
DD: lovely to "see" you again. I'm glad it's going well for you and Charlie even if it's all a bit hectic . Take it all in your stride. We all have the utmost confidence in your abilities to cope, learn and move on. xx
Punkdoc, progress indeed with the kerria removal. Just don't go mad.
An old Uni friend of my daughter was one of the curators and she's asked if I'd like her to show me round the exhibition. I'm tempted to a trip " up country" and maybe fit some of this in too:
Heating oil due today . I suspect it might be like the times we all used to come off the beach when on holiday together when the girls were young
" I bags first use of the shower".
It's lovely to just chill with them and drink too and chat.
They're only here until Thursday and then No 1 daughter is off on trip to S. America on Monday next week. 5 countries ( including Galapagos Islands ) in 2 1/2 months.

I have "only" 89 acres, but mostly woodland. And I'm often awake during nighttime, so we can chatt about our tiny gardens while the brits hate us for all the space we have.
When the droughts started, I watched a lot of gardening videos from Australia, so I have learned things like to use the waste water.

Oh, forgot to say, Liri has put some great photos of her holiday on the camera thread. http://www.gardenersworld.com/forum/the-potting-shed/camera-talk---part-2/990057-39.html#latest

Very exciting times for you Hosta. Good to hear.
How's the weather with you Pat?
Hot, Hosta. Currently, noisy thunder overhead, so wondering if it will be a cold dinner tonight (if the power goes off yet again).
This is the capacitor from the bore pump after a lightning strike.
