Exactly Hosta, I actually saw roses with glitter on!

What marketing genius saw a rose and thought...'hmmm how can we make this better!?!'image the lack of taste and class sometimes baffles me honestly!

Pdoc, homemade valentines not included in my disdain, those are indeed a thing of beauty, sounds like the young French men were too! image

  • The valentine OH received consisted of his favourite Tunnock's tea cakes iced with a romantic message all in a heart shaped container ......... classy or what!!!?   image

    See original post

I think they are aimed for new europeans/eastern europeans etc, many other ethniticities like things more colourful and sparkly than we do. But I wouldn't call it bad taste, just different tastes from ours.

an example of how good taste in one country can be bad taste in another, is me and a friend of mine. She is from Poland and complained that swedish women were bad dressers and thought we should learn a thing or two from the polish women. But we see their dress style as outdated and sluttish.

Just back from a walk into village and although very cold, lots of birds were singing, I think Spring might be coming.

How can you lie there and think of England

We were invited to lunch today, but someone is ill, so it's postponed. Otherwise we aren't doing anything for Valentine's Day. Wonky summed it up well.

Men have been to screed the landing before the carpet is laid on Friday. But some of the screed leaked through to the floor and the newly painted wall in the room below. Have managed to mop it up though.

Doesn't look as though spring is coming here. Snowed yesterday, cold and grey today.

It sounds like we are all on the same page re Valentine's. I nipped into SM yesterday evening, for milk and blueberries, and it was heaving with people queuing up with flowers and various heart-shaped items! There should have been a queue just for them, so maybe they would have time to reflect on the commercial farce they were part of. I dare say the tat aisle will be filled with Easter stuff by tomorrow!

    Hope you all ok.
