re  HC , there are lots of little boats which operate too. They stop right at the entrance on the river.

See if you can find where they " start" and park near there. I think they only charged about £1 a head last time we did it. I think, THINK we parked in Molesey.

If you get there early enough, you might even find somewhere to park free of charge. I know we never paid for parking.

DL - Belgium is very small and only grows serious quantities of BS in the Flanders half where the soil is better for veggies.  I would say the Netherlands as they are very organised at intensive veggies and exporting.   Probably somewhere daft like Mexico tho or maybe the US.  Just imagine what gets sprayed on those crops!

Yvie - sorry, never used a grow light.

Busy - the apple would probably be a lot wetter than a banana and would change the flavour so you may need to adjust flour or cooking times and use just cinnamon instead of mixed spice.

I have just had to give Rasta doggy a warm, soapy shower and rub down.  Coypu poo is incredibly smelly and she'd had a very thorough roll all up her neck, shoulders, chest and withers.   Looking very curly as she dries so hairdresser soon I think, now her face has healed up from the coypu battle.

For Obelixx and anyone else interested

    salted caramel and banana cake

to make the caramel ....melt 60g unsalted butter,60g light brown sugar, once sugar has melted turn the heat up a little till it bubbles and foams. Remove from heat allow to cool then whisk in 50ml double cream. Stir I half a teaspoon of rock salt if you want it salty   I make this up in batches and it keeps beautifully in the fridge fior about three months!

Heat oven to 160fan, 180 non fan, line a 2 lb loaf tin

    3  ripe bananas, 2mashed 1 sliced longways

    100 g unsalted butter

100 g soft dark brown sugar

    1egg

    100g plain flour

    50g ground almonds

    1/2 tsp bicarbonate soda

    1/2 tsp baking powder

Mash bananas with butter and sugar, once, add the egg and mix, then stir in 1tbs of cooled caramel Pour into loaf tin and dollop 4larxe drops of caramel   Top with remaining mixture and place on the two halved bananas

Bake for 30 mins or until cool   Once cold drizzle the remaining caramel over the top  (I felt at this stage it was sweet enough and didn’t!)

    Enjoy!

oooh Lily that sounds lovely. I might just have a go at that tonight. Mind you; due to my bodies idea of celebrating that it once again managed o avoid getting pregnant, I might just scoff the lot in one sitting.

Ob; I must try harder with other halfs training. I thought we had it cracked but it seems it doesn't take much for him to slip.

There's hints of more chillies poking through the soil!

Just you being away from home for one night Clari image

Had a relative visit for a few hours and ate too much at lunchtime.  A bowl of soup later will suffice for tea I think.

Busy - I hope family from England didn't have too much trouble with the weather conditions and that it warms up a bit for you.

    Hi folks,

Does anyone use a grow light?  I've got quite a few seeds on the go and most have germinated. Thought I'd try a grow light to stop them getting leggy over the next few weeks.  Wanted to get an early start with them this year.  Last year they were a bit small when they went out took a while to get going.

Hi yes I use one. The one I have is like a fluorescent strip light called a Sunblaster does not use a lot of power works fine for me, I think I got it from Greenhouse sensation same place as do the Vitopod propagator.

I have been following what people say about Tumeric  is any one brand better than another? Sorry if this has already been said.

    Snow has been melting.

I would have used 2 bananas, Obelixx, and an apple + the carrots, as it's what I have. But didn't get the time. A wild boar has been rooting about where I feed the horses hay and the fence was down, electric ribbon. The top electrified one was spread out across the paddock, but the bottom one was still more or less attached to the fence posts, 2 of which were lying on the ground. I'm amazed the horse hadn't got out. They were very nervous and standing huddled together. I've mended the fence and given them some hay. I nearly fell over in the mud where the boar had dug a hole!
