Was it Liri filling in tax returns lately or LP?

A Belgian has filled in their forms which include a question about anyone else for whom the y are financially responsible.

    He or she replied:-

         2.1million illegal immigrants

4.4m receiving unemployment or sickness benefit

         900,000 prisoners in 45 prisons

         650 cretinous MPs in parliament

The entire European Commission (for info - none of whom pays taxes in Belgium but all of whom get loads of perks).

The tax people replied saying the declaration was not acceptable.

         Why, did I forget someone?

Yep - very dark brunette here but I still had to acquire 'that look', especially - but not only - for a career on building sites. It doesn't work on the dogs though. I have a Voice of Doom for them image

A friend was a primary school teacher ... she was regularly called upon in the local pub to give 'her look' to customers afflicted with hiccups ......... invariably it worked and stopped the hiccups immediately  ... it was something like this, but over the top of her spectacles which were on the end of her nose  image

We must've all been busy this afternoon.

Hope BL has a good journey home.

Thanks Dove. We got back about 4.30pm. Saw some flooding near Bergerac and a lot of wet fields with ponds in them, but all is OK at home. Got home about 4.30pm. Feeling very full after sausages and sweetcorn fritters and a glass of red, also very tired. It's 9.35pm here and 8.35pm in England, feels like midnight

    Hello all!

Just back from La Palma.  Lovely place, but iffy internet access...  bit of catching up to do on here, I think.

Here's one view of the highest point on the island.

Lovely view Liri. Hope you and OH enjoyed a relaxing break.

BL....pleased to hear you had no flooding problems when you got home.

Saw the flooding in Paris on tv tonight.

Welcome home Liri.  I hope you and OH are both feeling relaxed after your break.

You too Busy.   Glad your house is safe from flooding.

Have told Possum we won't be doing any strolling along the Seine as she'd hoped but there's plenty more to see and do in Paris.    It seems there have been mini riots in some parts of France in a supermarket chain that discounted Nutella to about 25% of its normal price.  Ludicrous.
