That's good news Joyce tho I expect a stick is handy in snow and ice.

    Pond on 28/11/17

The twisted willow we planted on the shelf at this end is under water now and the weeping willow planted on the higher shelf at the far end is only a few inches form being under water.   11mm more over night and more falling today.

Nanny - we've been drying all our washing indoors this month having had only 2 dry days.   Excellent planning to have all this rain in January.    Happy Obxx.

    She looks comfy Pat.

Yes, she’s such a sweet little thing. I can’t help feelingbsorry for her not understanding why they aren’t here. I hope she sleeps all night.

Your pool is certainly filling up Obelixx. I don’t think submersion will worry the willows.image

    Morning all.

There are two English soldiers staying here at the hotel. UN based training of local army. They've been coming for 12 years.

Let's just say the one who uses the pool, is erm.... " perfectly easy on the eye" .
He's such a nice guy and we often chat. He told me yesterday he's a " Regimental Sergeant Major"

He was in reception a few days ago in his " camo" gear before heading off and we chatted , as usual. As he was leaving , the girl on reception said hello and asked how he was. As he was leaving she said

" oh, you look very nice in your uniform"

    "oh, thank-you he said"

I chipped in " Yes, I thought so too, but didn't like to say"

He laughed heartily and waved his goodbyes.

    I'm so easy pleased.

Love the NL photos, but I'd rather sleep in the"heated"  loo than the ice rooms. bbrrrrrr.

Counting down the day now until we head home on Tuesday. " will this last, or do we need to get more" is the line of the moment. Hubby grumbled yesterday evening as he finished his gin at sundowner time.

" Oh for goodness sake, go buy another bottle"

    " REALLY?????? imageimageimage"

    and off he trotted. Bless'im.

    Devon.

You sound very relaxed Hosta.  After all that time my head would be buzzing with ideas and I'd be itching to get home and get on with it.

    Night Pat.

Raisingirl.  15 of us getting kitted up for skidoos.  Mostly men of a certain age, but one or two younger ones. I was the only one in a suitable padded windproof jacket. All the rest had to change. Who does he ask if I want to sit on the back, doubled up? No, I want to drive the thing myself! Hmph. Who did he check on to see if it wasn't too difficult to steer half way along? If it had been light enough I would have given him one of my looks. (also known as the death stare). I'm stronger than I look. The last gentleman who offered to carry my dive bag(trimmed down to 32 kg) nearly ruptured himself.  Use it or lose it.

Nothing to do with you being a blonde as well as female Fidget image

I found that middle aged men treated me quite differently when I changed from being a blonde to a redhead ... still appreciative, but in a 'hands off slightly scared taking a step backwards' sort of way image

I think any self respecting woman needs a death stare, regardless of the colour of her hair.  I was born blonde but since my 40s have actually got darker rather than lighter except for a few grey bits.  Still need the stare for idiots.
