I think that's how most people think of it and use it.  Desperately unattractive.

I bought a celeriac to have with our beef stew and was going to mash it till I saw it baked whole on Saturday Kitchen this morning.   Gave it longer than indicated as I thought it was a wee bit bigger than the one shown this morning but after over and hour it still wasn't baked!  Tomorrow night then, after some more baking.

It's very blowy here.  I love all the rain we're having but I can see why the Mistral drives people mad.  Howling winds in the eaves and whistling in the chimneys is getting a bit too much now.

Joyce, they have been asking us in FaceTime where the snowman is. We really didn’t have any choice but to build one. Hope you warm and tucked up.

I watched Monty's garden programme too, also enjoyed it, but nothing beats English gardens.

    That's a good looking snowman.

Went to 2 GCs today, bought seeds, including sugar snap peas, never seen them in France. Not sure what else we've done, went for a wander in the rain, watched Kiri, did patchwork squares. This evening we went to dinner with friends. It was a good evening. The car was covered in ice when we left and I couldn't open the back door.

We reached 35 at midday and still rising image. Huge bush fires in the Royal National Park (south of Sydney) And various other places around the country.

we watched Death in a Paradise last night as well Lilyp. We still love the bloke from Father Ted. Also have a soft spot for an Irish accent any time. image

We’re inside with the fan going until it gets too hot then the air con will be on. The veggie plants seem to be managing quite well with my new regime of watering just before dark instead of mornings. There are two thumb sized zucchinis on one of them.

Dont like the sound of that weather Down Under ... but didn't Kyle Edmund do well image

Another sharp frost here ... everything is glistening white with hoar frost. I'm staying indoors, but I've just heard the 'bang' at the golf club that triggers the start of a competition .... Brrrrr rather them than me.

Can I just recommend Listening Again to Howard Jacobson's A Point of View on Radio 4 this morning ... image
