That's not like our robins here or in Belgium where they have a much smaller red throat. We had more variety in Belgium but then I had been feeding the birds in that garden for 23 years and word got about. Here's it's nearly all sparrows and blue and great tits with the occasional robin, chaffinch, turtle dove and magpie.
No marsh tits, no warblers, no woodpeckers. I've seen a heron fly over but not stop and there are barn and tawny owls at night.
Still sunny so I shall go for walkies this pm. Haven't for the last few days cos of all the sewing but I need some air and exercise. Enjoy your walkies and lunch Busy.
LP - I hope you get away OK without too much delay or stress. Hope the roads have been cleared by the time you need to leave.

We don't see many bullfinches nowadays ... not enough orchards
You've got a lovely greenfinch there too ... we lost a lot to a nasty disease spread by dirty bird feeders ... I usually give ours a good soak and a scrub with a very dilute bleach like Milton every few months. Fortunately we've had greenfinches reappear here over the past couple of years.
We lost our greenfinches too Dove even tho I cleaned the feeders regularly. Not seen any here yet either. I'm looking forward to the return of nightingales and hoopoes and have been keeping an eye out for the pesky magpies. We had two new nests in ash trees last year. One was wrecked by a storm in December and the other was lost when we had the two dodgy ash trees felled in September. No sign of rebuilding yet.
Back to the sewing now. Whose idea was it to do decorative top stitching on a rather plain grey fabric?

I don’t think you could get a better variety of birds than in Norfolk.

A Common Crane on the bird table would be quite a sight.
