No takeaway anything near here except pizzas during the summer season. No thanks.
I've just cooked riso venere for the first time. Had it in a restaurant last summer and loved it so pounced when a Leclerc SM had it on offer during an Italian week. Luscious, glossy, nutty dark red rice. Yum yum.

Likewise . We have been celebrating Chinese New Year in lieu of my birthday since Mum died. But now we can't do that. I guess we'll have to make it Burns Night instead - we can both eat haggis, fortunately. I do love a real Chinese. I suppose I can make my own version ......
Hosta - it's because you always say yes that they always phone you. It's been wild here tonight - hail, thunder and gales. Hope it's a bit calmer in the morning.
Liri - sounds very sore and inconvenient - hope it eases quickly again.
Pernod . Clams - shudder

It's lovely Joyce. Takes longer to cook than ordinary rice but it is very tasty.
Blowing a hooly out there now. Hope it's raining too but can't tell with the shutters down. Been watching recorded history progs on Invasions and She-Wolves of Britain and England while I stitch felt Xmas decs. Absorbing stuff.
Best go to bed. Sweet dreams all.

Good morning all We had quite a bit more snow overnight ... probably 3 or 4 inches, and the gritter trundled past at 2:30am ... but it's raining now and the snow is disappearing rapidly. Just as well as. I'm heading out to a rural pub for lunch later with former colleagues .. Christmas must really be here
