This one is for Joyce. I liked the seagulls, taking up residence on the nest-shaped thingy (radar?) on the fishing boat. (It's Oban, for those not in the know!)
Back from an eventful 3 weeks in Scotland, on Tuesday. (Snow; wind; 14-hour power cut; 10-day course of antibiotics; ferry disabled by engine failure...) Had an enjoyable time overall. It looked like this when I left...
...I'll post some more photos on the camera site when I have time.
Not a lot of time at the moment because I'm having to look after OH, who has a very nasty bout of cellulitis in his lower leg. He's now on his 8th day of intravenous antibiotics, and has paid 3 visits to hospital so far - the first two while I was away. Had he confessed how bad he was, I'd have come home early, but he assured me everything was ok and he could cope... strictly speaking true, since he's still alive, but he hasn't been able to put weight on the affected foot. Until I got home he was really struggling. Now he's getting breakfast in bed, lots of cups of tea, and plenty of sympathy.
Exciting news yesterday, when our DIL gave birth to their first baby - our first grandson. No name yet. Might he be Andrew? St Andrew's Day birthday, and it's his dad's name.
Happy birthday Hosta!
Since 2019 I've lived in east Clare, in the west of Ireland.
You'll probably all think I'm a bit of a heathen, the older I get the less I listen to music, I listen to classical mostly. When I was young I listened to pop and folk a lot. When I listen to today's pop music there isn't a lot I like.
Yesterday OH bought a bag of sunflower seeds for the birds, but there is nowhere to put them out of reach of cats. We have just been to the local GC and bought a bird table, reduced from £55 to £10 because it blew over in a gale and the roof is slightly damaged, nothing that OH can't fix. He's fixing it now. Also bought suet balls and a hanger for them. Last year I thought it would be daft because we aren't here enough but OH will be back in December and we are both back in January.
OH has just lit the cottage woodburner for the first time, had the cottage almost 2 years and not lit it. Looks very cosy.
Dordogne and Norfolk. Clay in Dordogne, sandy in Norfolk.
My daughter went back to work last week after two weeks in hospital and five at home with cellulitis in her leg. She has been left with ulcers which need daily dressings. She used a zimmer for three weeks so that may be useful for your OH.
Had to look up cellulitis. Nasty. I hope your OJ and Joyce's daughter make full recoveries and soon. Glad you're back safe Liri. Congrats to all on the new baby. Great pics.
Had a very tearful Possum on the phone this evening. She's had 2 offers for her internship and can't cope. Too happy to choose. Doh! Can't tell you the angst we've been thru this last few weeks. Made me feel 72 not 27.

Hello everyone!
Long time no see.
This one is for Joyce. I liked the seagulls, taking up residence on the nest-shaped thingy (radar?) on the fishing boat.

Congratulations Liri! Andrew is a good name and sounds very suitable.
Liri, thank you for the photo

He has my sympathy...poor soul.
Thanks, Joyce. Your poor daughter... at least OH isn't as badly affected.
I'm just guessing with "Andrew", Lizzie. We'll wait and see...

Thanks Obelixx. OH is at least happy this evening (he's not enjoying sitting about doing nothing!) because there's football on the telly.
Hope Possum manages to make a decision - what a great problem to have, though!
The problems of indecisive youth Obelixx...........
Lir , hope o/h is soon fully recovered
Not long got home , Been to Thursford Christmas Spectacular, absolutely brilliant , it is on the middle of no where in Norfolk ?
All performanced live , 65 musical pieces and a cast of over 100 , a true delight
Course he could cope Liri, he is a man.
Hope it gets better soon.
Must be a weight off your mind Obelixx.
