Clari ...nothing like a roaring fire to make you feel good especially cuddling up to someone you love
Did anyone watch the the Don McLean .....American Pie doc? I was transfixed with his multi buttoned cuff shirts It was amazing though .....I was intrigued with the lady who wrote "Killing me softly with your song" ..... http://www.bbc.co.uk/programmes/b09hqpzz
Welcome back Dacha - sorry you’ve been in the wars
Big HP fans here too .....loved the studio tour. We also used to listen to the tapes on holiday journeys- recognise the “are we nearly there yet” turning into “can we stay in the car a bit longer” phenomenon. We underestimated how long we would spend in the car on one American holiday and had to buy the next book over there. Stephen Fry doesn’t read theirs, it’s Jim Dale .....took a lot of getting used to
Work done ✅...feet up now with Mirabel Oslers “a gentle plea for chaos” ....a good gardening read if you like that sort of thing (which I do)
Managed to survive the rain today - only slightly soaked. A long weeeknd now - hurray! If we don't eat all the choccies and tree-shaped crisps etc by Monday night - they will be taken to work for emergency snacking scenarios. I expect most people will pretend they are on a diet for the New Year but come lunch time on the 2nd Jan they will all succumb to a truffle or cookie with their cuppa!
Welcome back Dacha, but sorry to hear about your woes. That must have been quite a scary experience. Certainly takes the shine off a concert!
Chicky, I've got that book and read it years ago - can't remember a thing except that I enjoyed it. You've prompted me to revisit.
To those asking about the exams - I did rather better than I expected in the botany one . All that revision paid off! I get the soil science results next week. But these were only mocks. The real ones, all four of them, are at the beginning of February.
I hadn't expected so many HP lovers . OH and I were fans before having kids, and even had to get two copies when a new one came out (the books, I mean) as we couldn't wait for the other one to read it first. I took our daughters to the studio tour a couple of years ago, we loved it, had a brilliant day. We didn't take OH though - he worked on the last two films so would have been all 'been there, done that' about it so he wasn't invited . We looked for his wand but although there's supposed to be one for everyone who worked on them, that's not actually true. Those who were in the films, including extras, get priority over those who made it happen, even when it was their every waking moment for years on end (do I sound bitter ?).
'If you have a garden and a library, you have everything you need.'
I was kind of joking... OH doesn't give a damn about having a wand in the wand room. It would have been exciting for the girls to see it though, especially as HP took him away from them for so long!
Obelixx, I was reassured by your bulb tardiness . Always nice to have company...

Oh but how fabulous to have been involved in creating something iconic like that
And well done on the exams too ...gives you the confidence you need for the next set
