Speaking of villages, our has two churches - C of E and RC, a village Hall, tennis court, sports oval and that’s it. No shops, no markets, no petrol station. There is a telephone box on the corner. No mobile phone coverage. Talk about the dark ages! 25 km to nearest anything.
I got a compliment from our social media team yesterday about how great our local Facebook page was. While, naturally, I already knew it was pretty special (I run it), it's nice to think they actually check in on us every so often!
Today I've decided that as I'm meant to be on holiday (gave my holiday to a staff member who REALLY needed a long weekend) I'm going to play with my creative side and try out a few ideas I'd not have time too normally.
Not holding out much hope for this place but it'll be in a better position when I'm done. My biggest issue is people just don't seem to want to volunteer anymore. We used to be a good organisation ; now we're, around here certainly, somewhere you apply for when the job centre threaten you and then claim you don't realise it was unpaid.
Oh well- we're missing a huge opportunity right now because the other big charities are full bore on the advertising front about loneliness in the elderly as it's Christmas. We've not even got a poster! (Head office team at fault there I'm afraid).
Good morning all We have snow at last ... Not a lot but enough to make it slippy on The Rise as parents are driving their children to school. It doesn't look as if the bus route at the bottom has been gritted ...
Gardening in Central Norfolk on improved gritty moraine over chalk ... free-draining.
OH made it to the cottage, but the A11 was closed near Thetford so he took a country road and then that was also closed for sewage pipes, which OH knew about, but the diversion signs had disappeared and it was dark. About 6 cars were following him, no one knew the way, but OH remembered another way because it was the road we took for the Murder Mystery evening!
The nice decorating man has arrived to make a start on the landing, which was damaged by the flood. It has a dark orangy brown hessian wall covering, which I hate, but it's a nightmare to remove. It absorbed the flood water which left a tide mark. It will be white or cream when he's finished.
Hoping to make a start on the Christmas cards. Did my Christmas letter last night. I remember some people here last year saying that they didn't like round robin letters, but when I don't do it friends and family say they missed it and I like getting them.
Dordogne and Norfolk. Clay in Dordogne, sandy in Norfolk.
Morning all. A wonderful red sunrise this morning here too Joyce. Very glad I am not having to brave the minus 5! Please go easy all those venturing outside.
Will make a list of any Christmas stuff that needs to be done today as, not counting days in work, there are now only a handful of days left!
OH got a call in the middle of the night, the BBC wanted an urgent press release, they had heard early morning tree felling was happening today, and wanted her company's response.
How can you lie there and think of England When you don't even know who's in the team

We’re watching UK Kids Voice. We love these kids. Also wrapped in Wil I Am.
Pdoc, I think the BBC would have bleeped out my response.
