OH has a bout 50 of them, including a set of 6 for the local Gembloux beer which he is never going to see on sale here. Belgium has the greatest diversity of original beer styles on the planet and last time I looked there were over 1000 with new ones being added all the time as artisans and micro breweries try something new. He can get the obvious ones like Leffe and Chimay and so on but has decided to explore local artisanal beers now - on the understanding that he does not start a new glass collection!
Those scones look very good but I'd have had jam and cream on each half. As it is, I got a snack attack during all the cleaning and sorting and ended up making do with toasted brioche and hot chocolate.
Guinea fowl roasting now and a welcome glass of wine while it cooks.
Vendée - 20kms from Atlantic coast.
"The price good men (and women) pay for indifference to public affairs is to be ruled by evil men (and women)."
Roast chicken with roast potatoes and carrots all done in the domed roaster, plus Brussels sprouts and gravy ........ now to flollop on the sofa ......... OH is washing up .............
Gardening in Central Norfolk on improved gritty moraine over chalk ... free-draining.
Half an inch of snow settled here. Fine stuff coming down most of the day. Neighbours cat likes the christmas tree balls. I guess the novelty will wear off in a bit. Rack of lamb and a bottle of red for dinner. We have enough food in to last until the end of January. Stay safe everyone, nasty roads out there. Blue planet for us too.
We watched Blue Planet too, such amazing photography. Then we saw the News and the snow and about travelling difficulties. OH is supposed to be flying to England tomorrow. I hope it's better then.
We've been busy with the Carol Service and the mince pie and mulled wine get together afterwards, then all the clearing up.
Weather has been awful today, heavy rain and strong winds. Lower attendance than usual at the Carols, about 100, and half the choir were away with colds and coughs.
Dordogne and Norfolk. Clay in Dordogne, sandy in Norfolk.
Evening everyone! Back from the Great Expedition to Crosby, accompanying OH by train, to conduct his Christmas concert. (As it happens the roads would probably have been all right, but we didn't want to risk it.) Considering he hadn't been able to rehearse with them for four weeks it went pretty well, and he's ok, though tired.
Absolutely agree re Blue Planet. Just brilliant. 13 million watching it, apparently; if all of us take DA's exhortations to heart, before it's too late, maybe there's still hope for the future of the world... clearly we have to try!
Since 2019 I've lived in east Clare, in the west of Ireland.

Evening all.
Home now.Cold hasn't been too bad after all , just a bit snuffly, with the odd coughing / sneezing bout.
4 deliveries later this afternoon . Cold with heavy downpours and very strong winds.
Our delivery lorry got stuck in a ditch whilst trying to drive round a fallen tree. OOPS!
Having a cuppa then a bath.
Hubby making meatballs and pasta. Nice and easy and quick.
Blue Planet and Marigold 2 for us tonight.
