Freezer now defrosted, clean and tidy. The contents, in 2 freezer boxes wrapped in old duvets inside binbags outside the back door, hadn't started to soften at all. No room for a Christmas goose though - we must eat more of its contents (freezer's, not goose's) in the next couple of weeks.
OH is still planning to go to Bradford by train this afternoon, to watch his team (Bradford City) for the first time since he was ill. I might accompany him as far as Halifax, to check he doesn't slip on the steps going to the station...
That book looks good, Dove. I'll remember it when it's my turn to choose for the Novel Appreciation group.
Since 2019 I've lived in east Clare, in the west of Ireland.
Bird feeders have been topped up and some cheap porridge oats scattered for the blackbirds who appear hungry even tho there are still lots of berries on the big pyracantha hedges behind us.
Although my garden thermometer said that the lowest temp last night was 0.00C, the birdbath is frozen solid ... I've filled a large plastic pot saucer with water and put a piece of broken pot in there for the smaller birds to perch on.
It's a really good book isn't it Pdoc

Heavy frost this morning and it's only just crept up to 5C on the warmest, sunniest, most sheltered windowsill. Have spent my morning cleaning and moving furniture and contents with OH and this pm will be more of the same. All good fun, honest.
Cosmos pussy is feeling much more himself after a week off the cortisone. Positively frisky this morning as he woke me up by pouncing on my hair and "knitting" it. Still docile for paw dressing tho so that's OK.
We had Nigella's radicchio and blue cheese salad with citrus and seasame dressing but our own walnuts instead of chestnuts for lunch. It is glorious. Recommend it. Now having a coffee and watching a programme on demolition. Why did nobody tell me about that during careers advice at school? Great fun, but I'd have had to resist the temptation to go rogue and demolish a few carbuncles while no-one was looking.
Good to see you WW. Prezzy plans sound good. You too Pdoc. Hope you're OK. Liri - glad that OH is on the move again. Busy - getting used to shop hours now but at least Leclerc stays open. Chicky - have a lovely time. We don't get Possum till the 23rd and will take the opportunity to visit Nantes Xmas market after fetching her from the airport and having a lovely lunch.
Hello to everyone. Enjoy your weekend.

I've not been a fan of Jodi Picoult Pdoc ... but on your recommendation I'll keep an eye open for it ... I may even put in a request at the library ........

I have just finished Small Great Things by Jodi Picoult, which is another great read.
