Hosta - it won't work instantly. My pharmacist said to take it for a minimum of 3 months to build and maintain levels but that it would take a week or two to start showing any effects.
Pretty mis out there today but just blowy and whistly, not wet. I have to go and fetch a pumpkin to make warming soup for lunch and then I need to pot up some plants for the swap tomorrow. OH wants to take the doggies to the coast this pm. Might be a tad bracing but dry. Once again the rain they promised has gone off the forecast.
Stay safe and cosy everyone.
Vendée - 20kms from Atlantic coast.

That's a fair trek Busy. I hope you have a lovely, cuddly weekend and a safe trip home.
OH spoke to a very subdued BIL yesterday. Senior SIL is in a state of shock from pain and discomfort. She's kept herself very fit and busy to avoid going the way of her parents who ended up sickly so having the accident is bad enough without having the pacemaker op on top. She' s a positive force tho and will recover and I suspect it's a good thing in the long run. Heart function has been dodgy for a while but her local chap didn't want to operate on a 70+! Stoopid.
Getting very dark out there now with low, grey clouds. Not inviting.

Afternoon all, bit of a slow pace here today, and we have decided that is absolutely fine with us, no pressing to dos only general pottering type housework needed doing so watching cr**py columbo style movie, on the sofa with the cats and the heating on!
We have finally succumbed and put a couple of radiators on low. You certainly do need to keep yourself warm and cosy Pauline and a flop on the sofa with a cuddly feline is positively good for you WW.
Ended up making a spaghetti squash gratin for lunch. tried to cut it in half for the initial baking but ended up having to boil it to soften the skin before I could fork out the flesh. Nearly ready to eat. Just browning nicely under the grill.

Morning all.
What a horrid thing to happen to your in-laws, Obelixx, especially when about to go on holiday.
I love herrings, haven't had them for years. Haven't seen them for sale here.
I'm at son 1's near Auxerre for the weekend. He's the one with 3 small daughters, one is a baby. Both sons have babies. Son 2 has 3 small boys.

One of the benefits ( ? ) of insomnia is that I've been able to feed the woodburner during the night so it's not actually been cold for almost a week.
No point in being cold and awake Hosta.
wise words, as ever, Joyce.
It's actually very restful sitting in the sitting room in the dark just watching the flames.
