It does get dark very early and I'm not used to it yet so always a surprise.
Dentist was fun this morning. Since he fixed the problem tooth it's been very sensitive to heat and cold so today a root canal. While he was one he did another that was sensitive. Lovely. Back in 12 days to replace more old metal fillings. I shall be glad when this is over! Took OH too and he will need 2 more visits to replace old metal stuff.
After that, fabric shop and SM then a very late lunch. Been on the sofa since doing emails. BIL and SIL have had a major accident on their way to a holiday flight. Car and holiday written off and SIL's heart has had to have a pacemaker fitted. Both bashed and bruised but not broken buy 70ish now so healing will take a long time and SIL is not good at being quiet and peaceful.
We may get a bit of rain tomorrow or Sunday so OH has moved all the pumpkins into the polytunnel where they can carry on ripening in the dry and safe from any surprise frosts. Tomorrow I need to pot up some stuff for a garden club plant swap and picnic lunch on Sunday.
Pat - I love Bolero and always have it in the car for long journeys on my own. t'other pair get upset when I whack up the volume to hear the quiet build up. I also like this flash mob and "tune". - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kbJcQYVtZMo
Not many Xmas ads here yet but there's one on the radio about buying things that last and starts with a moan about kids' trainers, the cupboard OH built etc. Always makes me smile.
Chicky - I hope the flight is going smoothly.
Pdoc - little pleasures lead to positive waves. Keep it up. Enjoy as much as you can.
Vendée - 20kms from Atlantic coast.

Hello folks .... the things that go on here when my back's turned
I had a lovely visit with my son ... he's living in such a rural spot now ... soooooo peaceful .... his cat (house cat never goes out) sits on the windowsills and watches wild rabbits on the lawn.
I went on to Southwold and put a poppy cross on the war memorial for Pa's younger brother ... I promised him I would do that when I could. Then I went down to the harbour and bought some lovely freshly caught herrings and watched the lifeboat tow a fishing boat in as its engine had packed up. It was glorious down by the harbour ...
It was a very high Spring tide and I caught it almost at it's fullest
You can see the tide coming in against the river flowing to the harbour mouth.
Looking up river and across to Walberswick.
Gardening in Central Norfolk on improved gritty moraine over chalk ... free-draining.
Flippin' 'eck Obelixx. Glad they're ok, although not really what they would have been expecting when en route for a hol.
Brisk indeed LP. Just going to be at Corbett height, so it won't be too bad, although the wind will add a fair bit of extra chill. It reached about 6 here for a while, but it was largely around four most of the day.
Lovey blue skies Dove. Were you not tempted to have a fish supper?
Could have sent doc some bolognese if he'd wanted.....
It's a place where beautiful isn't enough of a word....
I live in west central Scotland - not where that photo is...
Seems the problem was black ice. They went for a spin themselves then, while waiting for a gap to get back on the road, facing the right way, someone else did the same thing and wiped out both cars. No probs with insurance for car or hols so just need to heal now. Both shocked as well as bruised.
Me too Hosta and I'm not at all soppy. Excited about being warm much?
LP - how was your lunch? Glad you've had a good day Dove and hope you get a hill FG.
Full now. Lovely lamb's kidney stroganoff and a glass of wine. Yum.

We arrive on the 21st. Mucho excitemundo, but lots to do before we leave.
Obs, thanks for the flashmob link. I've seen it lots of times but it brings tears every time.

Nasty accident Obelixx ... glad they're ok although they must be somewhat unnerved by that.
I love lambs' kidneys ... but we had plump and sweet Silver Darlings in oatmeal on toasted sourdough with a green salad for our supper so we're happy

That would do me too Dove. Love fresh herrings and mackerel too.
Six plump sweet line-caught herring fresh off the boat for £3 ... fifty pence each ... what a complete bargain
