  • She's ok thanks Joyce. Got a bit damp today but is happy in the work and I think she's learning to pace herself.

She looks in here most days but doesn't post a lot as she tries to rest her hands when she can. Apparently a pair of  Felco secateurs are on her list for Father Christmas image

Well done  AR for coping with the scan and also Busy for your weight loss.   I need to shift 6 or 7 kilos too.  Bilbao hasn't helped but it's creeping off again now.  So slow once you hit 27!

OH is improving at Cosmos management and Cosmos is less wriggly during the whole process too.  I need to sew more socks tomorrow.

Pdoc & Dove - party politics seem increasingly to be dogma, entrenched positions and lack of real action to tackle serious problems.  eg The latest homeless figures are shocking and shameful and will only get worse.  How hard would it be to appropriate empty tower blocks and make low rent flats for the very needy?    Has to be better than the "accommodation" they showed on the London area news this evening.

Have to say I thought the coalition govt was an exciting development and the Lib Dems didn't get enough credit for reigning in the Tory hard liners.  I do realise I view it all from outside and so with more objectivity than most since I lost the right to vote and thus an axe to grind.

Wonky will enjoy using the Felco ones. I swear by them as I've no trouble with tendonitis since using them

Um Pat here we all are, being concerned, and/or keeping an eye on our weight, and you put that picture, how could you! Never mind Hubby discovering it, I need, no demand the recipe, now! Yes Lyn you are a tiny little thing.  People have always said to me, I am lucky with my weight.  I watch these programmes like Greg Wallace, "How to eat well for less" and am shocked at folks portion sizes.  We went to a carvery last week, havent been there for about 6 months.  I like a carvery because I can put want I want on the plate.  We both have  what they call the "lighter" which is a smaller plate, watched the couple next to me, pile their plate really high probably 6 large roast spuds, to my one, then the bloke went back for seconds, this time topped with mash (think "Close Encounters) he wasnt all round fat, but his gut was absolutely vast.  If I eat "normally" have a cake,ice-cream,crisps, I put on weight, if I eat really healthily for a few weeks, I will loose it. Thought I got a lot of excersise, with the dogs, but it wasnt "cardio" enough, so back up the Downs, several 3 hour walk right up the top and over, plenty of puffing, we take water for the dogs, drink for us, yes, we do have a sit down at the top, admire the sea view.Anyone watch the "Slim people" last night.  Our daughter is like that trying to put on weight, eats I will admit a lot of junk, especially chocolate, BMI 18, if shes ill it drops off, was a size 4, difficult to get clothes.  I nag her, say just because shes skinny, doesnt mean shes healthy with the amount of crap she eats!  Have threated to treat her to a DEXA scan!  Puncdoc, hang in there!

  • Good morning everyone.image

Took my hubby his morning cup of tea. Found the ear plugs that he uses when on the ride on mower in our bed. Woops, someone must have been snoring last night.image

I do hope you all have a good day, worries get sorted, health improves, holidays enjoyed and the odd lb or two disappear. image
