Morning all. Did call in for coffee but been distracted by naughty kittens!

I bought maple syrup yesterday as I fancied American pancakes and also it is superb drizzled over icing on apple cake. When I was packing away my bag, I noticed that on my receipt I had been charged twice for the syrup! How annoying. Is it worth the petrol and queuing to complain? Will they believe me anyway? This is the second 'mistake' this week, as the checkout person 'managed' to scan her hand gel on another trip, but I noticed immediately then because I had only brought bread, grapes and ham so thought my bill was a bit steep. Life lesson: worth checking the receipt guys! A bit of me did think 'scam' as well...

Have a great day everyone, be it productive, relaxing or combination.

You’re very welcome Hosta. I should look up a photo of one of the girls, they aren’t nearly as pretty. (Typical that the boys have the best looks) image

Pat E  where do you live to have a bird like that?  #birdenvy

'You must have some bread with it me duck!'

  • Morning all, hi Pat!

Why are there so many brightly-coloured birds living in Australia?  There must be an evolutionary advantage - just as there is here, for many birds being well camouflaged...  or perhaps I've just got accustomed to the goldfinches, bullfinches etc in my neck of the woods.  image

Hope your jobs and packing are well under control, Chicky.  This morning I remembered to put more water in our gas boiler, so OH doesn't suddenly find he's having an accidental cold shower while I'm away.  He's a dear but not very practical... also need to order more cat food.  Our aging moggy now needs specialist biscuits ordered through the vet.  Then I'm off to have a haircut so I can see out when the wind blows in Scotland.  image

Since 2019 I've lived in east Clare, in the west of Ireland.

Liri, have you tried getting your cat food on line.

my cat needs special biscuits, £20,00 from vet £13.00 online.

Iamweedy, sorry for being a bit slow. Have been scrolling through my iPad photos looking for a little female wren (without any success).

i live in SE NSW in the southern alpine area. The Wrens see. To prefer these cooler areas.

    How annoying, Auntie Rach.

OH has just left to catch the plane. He's going to Norfolk. Has an appointment to arrange for his cataract operation, which he is having done in England, not France. His French isn't good and he would rather live permanently in England anyway. I hope they manage to do the op when we are both in Norfolk. We will be there some of the time in November, December and January.

Dordogne and Norfolk. Clay in Dordogne, sandy in Norfolk.
