Your Christmas sounds perfect Dove. I’m rather hoping for a quiet one this year, but then i’ll feel selfish. image

No sign of Petal today, but I think he is smart enough to realise that the plants need a day off to produce more tasty treats. He was actually eating rose buds as well as flowers yesterday.

I took the paintings in this morning, and they were in the process of rearranging the art display, so I had to just leave them. It’ll be interesting to poke my nose in on Fridayto see where they hung themimage I really prefer to have a say in that, but there you go.

I managed to find some Celeriac seeds today, so I’m keen to try them out. I had to buy some heritage seeds - couldn’t find any in the common brands such as Yates, etc.

    Morning all.

Love your pics Chicky and the fetching headgear image

Dry and bright.....hoping for a few days like this to get more leaves cleared.

Solo Christmas here unless daughter's leg improved enough for a four hour drive.

Turned down invite to a family dinner at friend's. Not ready for such an occasion.

Morning all. I am a bit 'behind' in reading the posts so have just whizzed through. Too many things to mention but two things which caught my eye were 1. Ironing bed sheets!! and 2. alternative Christmas dinners (as in fab idea!).

Forgot to take bin 'up' this morning so annoyed about that as I said at dinner last night not to forget and we both did - grrrr! At least the recycling was already out - can't be doing with a full food waste caddy.

Hope everyone is ok - I'll call in later.

My garden and I live in South Wales.

Nanny B, I think the Wallaby is male. No real reason except his rough looking ragged ears. He is lovely. I washed my hair late yesterday and went out the back to brush the knots out. He was just nearby nibbling some leaves on a shrub, and just kept nibbling between watching me, no attempt into run away, which is a bit unusual for the animals here.

Morning all. Couldn't get on here earlier, kept saying "error".

Going to Tesco soon, when the washing machine has finished. Have been cleaning windows. Will be a quiet normal sort of day, but we are going out to a restaurant this evening.

    Morning all (just!).

Glad you're having a good time in East Anglia BL. What proportion of your year do you reckon you spend here? Are you likely to spend more time in future? Sounds like you and Dove had a proper chinwag!

Chicky those photos of Uluru were amazing. Like everyone else I've seen lots of pictures of it (never been to Oz though) but they still took my breath away. How long have you got left down under?

I've been reading Monty Don's Jewel Garden book (sorry Hosta) - it's good (sorry Hosta). I'm rather taken with the photos of leonotis - anyone grown it?

Pat, I love your paintings. Beautiful. Hope that Petal leaves something for you to draw!

Back on a more even keel now - it was a combination of tiredness, hormones, a few arguments and the need to have a 'difficult' conversation, I think - sorted now.  Thanks Chicky and FG. And good to see you back, FG.

Glad you're perking up LG.   I think Monty writes very well, just don't agree with a lot what he says and does.

Joyce - sometimes being quiet is just what you need. but I do hope your daughter's leg is better soon.

Hosta - hope OH is well enough for your walks now.  Hate missing holiday time to wobbles.

Pat - if you wallaby is aging gracefully he may well tolerate benign human presence in order to scoff your juicy buds and flowers.   Hope he leaves you some to enjoy!

Chicky - I bought a hat for Oz but they never stay on and drive me mad.  Strong sunscreen and glasses for me.   Glad you got to see the Olgas.   If you can, go and see the fairy penguins - tours from Adelaide - and Hardy's vineyards............

We have had 7mm of rain overnight.   Drum rolls and fanfares please.  Just need 70 more between now and Xmas to catch up.

Dove - my Xmas cactus is flowering!

Vendée - 20kms from Atlantic coast.
