Warm day today here, have done a bit of garden watering and then inside with the vacuum cleaner. Just taking a little rest before going out again to swap soaker hoses.
Do you find yourself wandering round it going 'baaa' as you have to follow the arrows (and the crowds) inexorably towards the bags of nightlight candles? Just me then.
Finally managed to get the garlic in and the dahlias up this weekend. With storms and rain forecast this week I thought I'd better stop prevaricating around the bush, as Wallace would say.
Busy L - glad your cat's come home
Clari, you're so organised. I rarely manage to get more than 4 days dog food all sorted ahead of time. Reggie is very handsome. But you know that, of course.
My broken dog had to miss his chemo yesterday because his white cell count is still too low - back to try again next week. He seems happy in himself though and he's put on a kg in 3 weeks - building up muscle basically, now he's walking regularly again. I on the other hand am hoping to lose a kg (or several) having been on enforced rest while the dog's been laid up, now that I am also walking regularly again. The month before Christmas is not the best time to diet, of course.
Christmas shopping all done - don't have many presents to buy anyway and do it all online these days. Now I just have to hope the delivery drivers actually turn up (rather than dumping things at a random neighbour in the same postcode, as they often do).
Need to get the Christmas pudding made too. I'm so disorganised this year
Raisin - Reggie is raw fed and I prepare his meals because of course being spoilt he wouldn't eat the pre made frozen minces.
It means I can cater for his allergies easily though but as it involves tripe... Well let's just say it's best to get it over and done with monthly rather than have to repeat the experience too often!
Hope your broken hound is back on form soon. It is worrying when they're not well - have you ever noticed that they can gain muscle / loose weight so easily yet somehow we struggle?
You must have the same delivery driver as us! I've not even started the list of things for Christmas yet much less brought anyone anything. It'll be socks and gloves at this rate.
Lyn you have to do it on Stir up Sunday morning while listening to Jill Archer doing hers ... it's the law!!! Whatever is the world coming to ... Christmas puds in September indeed ...
Nanny - it's the best invention ever! If you can throw money at things.
You collect templates of what you might want- put the felt on them (like a sandwich) then roll it through a machine and perfectly cut pieces! For something like my thirteen robin's or rather
26 body pieces
26 wing hearts
13 breast hearts
everyone starts off identical and you can cut them out in a few minutes without thumb ache from the scissors.
My mother really likes her craft so has loads of gadgets.
Lovely to see Pdoc posting and great that he's finding ways to do a bit about the place.
((hugs)) to Fairy ... Hope all is ok
Dull and relatively mild here in Norfolk. No sign yet of the strong winds we've been warned about.
I've decided to give tennis a miss today. My knee was painful for several days after last weeks session and has only just recovered and tomorrow I must go to the opticians and get my ears lowered and there's an important exhibition I want to see at the same time.
Gardening in Central Norfolk on improved gritty moraine over chalk ... free-draining.
Lily - fortunately the tripe isn't cooked everything is raw but I buy it frozen. That much meat will seriously lower the temperature in your kitchen!
Then I semi defrost it: cut it up and portion it out into tubs (10% offal 10% heart 15% bone 65% mixed meat) and refrozen- he even has his own freezer!
As a treat he sometimes gets it warmed slightly - but you can imagine the smell in the microwave! He loves it though!

MORNING ALL!
Back at work tomorrow so want to make the most of my last "holiday" ... for this week at least. I won't be working a full week til the new year.
Unsurprisingly it's grim out so walks along the hills aren't happening. I don't mind the rain or wind but the damp dog smell in the car does linger!
I might put my fruit in to soak - if the rum hasn't been used for medicinal purposes.
Morning, hideous morning again,
dragons breath all along the top of the hill
clari I don't know how you can cook that, he is a lucky boy!
Joyce fortunately the wind dropped and no sign of it today.
lovely to hear the folk down under having good weather, surprised Chikys oh allowing them to leave Brisbane with the Ashes starting tonight!
stay busy today Punk if you can
must get going
