That's a lot of clear up Busy.  Hope it all goes smoothly and you can get the right stuff.

Pdoc - one or two cannas a day sounds better than none to me.   Rest and sleep are good too.

Pauline - sticky toffee pudding with cream and ice cream and double rations of toffee sauce should see you right.   You can probably buy it but it's also easy to do at home.  PM me if you need a recipe for little ones you can fish out of the freezer as needed.   Hope the treatments work.

In Belgium we had to have a monthly dose of vitamin D in oil form despite us all spending time outdoors all year gardening, golfing etc..   Haven't needed any here and we do use sunscreen to stop burning and leathering.

Back home now after a very long drive.  Dropped Possum off at the airport and then went supermarket hunting.  None with car parks so took a scenic route back towards France and finally found a LIDL and got what I needed apart from paella rice.  They only had long grain.   Lots of German and Italian wine too but some Rioja lurking in there too.

Hit the Bordeaux area at 4pm and, clearly, everyone was heading out of town for a sunny weekend.   That and the road widening project meant an hour crawling along at 7kph.   Home to ecstatic dogs and a cuddly Cosmos and a relieved OH.  Minstrel, as ever, is busy.   Cracked a bottle of Rioja.

Bed time now.  Hi to everyone.  Hope the weekend shapes up well for you all.

Hello everyone. I didn’t get up until 11.30am today, the rest of the day will fly by.imageimage. I WAS asleep though, not just lazing.

Pauline, very sorry to hear of your medical problem.good luck for a full recovery.

My daughter has an elderly man in the next unit and they are good friends. He has recently been diagnosed with cancer. He has a lump in his tongue which is the size of a golf ball. He has refused surgery because they would remove at least half of his tongue, etc. He will be started chemo and radio therapy next week and my daughter will be driving him to and fro. I’ll make sure to tell her about keeping fat levels up, as I assume he will be having facial changes as well. My thoughts are with you.

Skimming back over the talk about various home remedies and recipes. My first MIL introduced me to ox heart stuffed with prunes. Very tasty. (Seedless of course). In recent years, butchers cut the heart open to inspect for any problems, so it’s not as straight forward to do the stuffing job.

Morning Pat and others to come.

Can't sleep so I've got up for a cuppa. I went out to fetch some wood for the burner and it's raining. First time in a week and I've not been able to say that since June.

Fingers crossed for it to let off enough for more chipping moving later.

Enjoy the weekend one and all.

Morning Hosta. I‘ll share one of our little Blue Wrens with you. He is the patriarch and attacks windows regularly or perched on top of any branches that give him a good view to ensure his girls are ok. image

    Beautiful little bird Pat image

A bit misty and drizzly here ... not a lot to do today ... A quick tidy/dust around and nip to the farm shop, then souse the herrings and get the ingredients ready for tonight's supper which will be made and baked when OH arrives home - then as some lovely 100% British Aran wool was delivered yesterday for a sweater for OH I'll finish the little piece of knitting I've got left to do and start the sweater. image

Morning all/afties Pat. Whata beautiful bird. Colours are stunning.

Same here LP, wet overnight, but it's supposed to dry up and be reasonable later. The sun is peeking through the clouds now  image

Hugs and fairy dust to everyone who needs it. I know how lucky I am.

Need more tea while I have a look around here...

It's a place where beautiful isn't enough of a word....
