Morning all. Beautiful photos and stunning paintings.
A wee bit of an early rise for me. Hubby still asleep but improved so I thought I'd leave him to it and come " check in " with the outside world.
Hot and humid here still. A bit damp and sticky at night but we've lovely new sheets which are just perfect in this weather.
I know I've said there are so many similarities between The Gambia and Goa , but I found another one yesterday when we did our walk along the beach. There was a crowd gathered on the beach and it looked like someone had either washed up, or collapsed after leaving the sea. A tourist was giving " first aid". A policeman was just standing by until a guy came along the beach on a moped. The policeman sprang into action and fined him. Maybe drowning guys don't carry a wallet. The guy on the sand was carried away " fireman lift" style and everyone just carried on as if nothing had happened. It didn't even interrupt the game of beach football.
I guess when you live next to an ocean , it's not that uncommon.
He had already eaten several before that photo Joyce. To be honest, I get more pleasure from watching his antics that the rosesthemselves. I watched him sheltering behing those shrubs a bit after that photo when we got a hard shower, almost hail, and a bit later up on the hill getting stuck into the flowers on the Derwentia.
Best wishes for hubby, Hosta. Hope his tummy settles soon.
i can’t recall when the Ayers Rock name changed Fairy. Probably after Gough Whitlam gave the land back to the traditional owners in about 1974. Until then, people were allowed to climb the rock, but you aren’t allowed now.
Morning all; a manic weekend with over 500 miles in the car covered. My spine (already damaged) is in bits. I think it's time to look at upgrades for the drivers seat!
Today is try to get all the jobs done although with no tumble dryer it's going to be tricky!
So far I have made a cup of tea and started writing a to do list. That's enough to deserve a rest now surely?
morning, been extremely wet but all the frost has gone.at least it will be milder, I had to come in from clearing the fruit cage as my middle finger went completely numb with cold!
Chicky fab photos, isn't it amazing, however you haven't mentioned the flies?
Ayers Rock will always be The Rock to me Uluru when I remember. Pat you drawings are stunning as always. Have you decided to go to Canberra for Christmas.
Hosta what I would give to feel some sun. Enjoy

Good morning. Late to bed so late to wake and then reading and cuddling Cosmos. He's getting too clever at sock removal. Only takes 8 or 9 hours now.
Lovely paintings Pat. We were at Uluru in 2001 and it was possible to climb the rock and take tours but there were signs posted by the aboriginals asking people not to climb and not to disturb their sacred places so we didn't. Still got loads of fab photos at dawn and sunset but pre-digital.
Hope you two get to meet up OK Busy and Dove. OH's sometimes have no idea about time!
LP - fingers OK now? 3 or 4C here now and no frost here last night and a bit of cloud about now but not a drop in sight.
Is Liri back yet or is she stuck on her island?

Morning all/evening Pat and Chicky.
Lovely paintings Pat. Is the wallaby having a sniff before eating the rose?
Morning all/afties Pat. Those painitngs are beautiful - surely someone will snap those up?
When did it change from Ayers Rock Pat? I must have been asleep....
Cute, if destructive, wallaby
Your pix are stunning chicky. It didn't look like it was going to turn into that at all. Isn't nature and weather marvellous!
Hope hubby's on the mend now Hosta.
Try and avoid the washed up 'items' today.....
Back to rain today. As long as it goes off before Thursday this week, the birds can put their galoshes back in their cupboards....
Have a good day all.
I live in west central Scotland - not where that photo is...

Wish OH would get a move on, waiting for him so we can go to the Park and Ride for the bus to meet Dove for coffee.
