That's spooky, I just was called for jury duty yesterday. But the problem for me is this is the third time in ten yrs! We are a city of over a million people and they keep at me. I have a notion that they check what the government know about me. They read that I'm a Metis and they want a diverse pool to pick from.lol
I've been given an exemption twice, the first time because mom needed care 24/7 and the second time because I make myself available for several elderly people in my area should they need anything.
Sadly Hosta, Dahlia and Canna lifting is going to be me, at the rate of 2-3 a day over the next few weeks. OH will help at w/e's.
I did phone a local gardener yesterday, from an advert in the PO, said i needed some help with a few jobs, but that it would be under direction. He seemed offended.
I also need to decide whether to lift various Salvia and my beautiful Melianthus.
How can you lie there and think of England When you don't even know who's in the team
So nice to read about all the music and book preferences .....Hosta, nice to see you had Anna Karenina there ....a very nice read.....I was brought up on the Irish staples .....Joyce ,Shaw , Swift , Wilde , Behan ( lived close to where I was born), O'Brine ....and later Roddy Doyle .....great craic

"don't bother - unless you're fluent in Scots dialect and enjoy being miserable.."
There does seem to a common theme of misery in a lot of these books/ authors

Don't you know anyone who could recommend someone?
So many people who advertise in shop windows etc are more groundsmen/women and maintenance people rather than gardeners.
Gardening in Central Norfolk on improved gritty moraine over chalk ... free-draining.
Watching Elton in Moscow. I’d forgotten how young he was. Thinking about Dacha.
Things have changed in recent years.
punkdoc, that's why I suggested a " youngster" muscle and doesn't get offended if you explain how you want things done.
As Dove says, don't overdo it.

One thought! Are we all getting our Cod Liver oil (aka Vitamin D) supplements over these l months.
So many people get seriously short of this very essential vitamin in the UK winters. Keep our bones and muscles strong for next years digging.
