I've never seen cavolo nero here Busy so have planted a bit from seeds in a half used packet along with a few flower sprouts.. There'll be a fresh sowing next spring. They both have a lovely flavour. I just do them steamed or tossed with butter and garlic and sometimes pine nuts and raisins depending on what they're accompanying. Plenty of freshly dug carrots here from up the coast near Noirmoutier where the soil is sandier and fertile - like Flanders but warmer.
I like a bit of fresh chilli in my raita Dove.
Well done RG. Good to get your pudding done and dusted and everyone happy.
We took the dogs to the beach at Longeville as it's usually quiet in the off season but too many other people had the same idea and we had to turn back early and put Bonzo back on his lead. He's fine with other dogs now but other owners don't appreciate a great lolloping Lab bouncing up to say hello. At the other end we came across two stupid men arguing the toss over dog control because one couldn't control his mastiff and the other didn't have the wit to take his own, clearly frightened dog, away from the stresser. Brits unfortunately.
Good surfing and doggy beach tho as it's not developed. Just a lifeguard in the high season when the hordes come.

Vendée - 20kms from Atlantic coast.

No snoozing, nor indeed, people watching. Most of the time it's just us at the pool. We do walk a couple of miles along the beach a couple of times a day, but you have to keep your eyes down or the " hawkers" think you want something. I know they're just trying to make a living, but there soooooo many of them and some don't take a polite " no thank-you" for an anwer.
Flollopped on the sofa absolutely stuffed to the gills ........... washing up and putting away has been done and a recording of Secret Life of the Zoo is on the telly ... I suspect it'll lull me to sleep ...
Gardening in Central Norfolk on improved gritty moraine over chalk ... free-draining.

Some Lemoncello poured over ice cream is
LP. I love the tang of lemon in food.
The bright, sunny morning here gave way to black skies and sleety rain.
I add chopped up cavello nero for the last few minutes when making broth in the winter as well as having it as veg.
That reminds me. I made some limoncello last autumn. It must be quite mature now. I shall investigate while dinner cooks.
our icy walk this morning
obelixx your lemoncello will be delicious, my recipe says it only takes two weeks to infuse

Nice pic LP. Have you got a set of micro spikes for the ice?
Like yours too Obs. Nice to see some blue sky - although I know you need some grey and black clouds with lots of wet stuff falling from them....
I love lemon-y things too Joyce.
I find shellfish free pud is definitely the way to go r'girl
Leftover goulash with extra veg for me and youngest. Comfort food for chilly weather
I live in west central Scotland - not where that photo is...
