I like that calculator, Dove, it says I am normal. But I have just lost a stone and feel better for it.
Done some housework and taken in a pair of jeans which was too big for me now I've lost weight, so I hope it stays lost.
Carpets are up, quite a job as they were foam backed and the French stick carpets to the floor with glue. Now have to wait for new ones, looks awful in the meantime. They have got rid of the worst of the stains on the carpet and furniture, not perfect but it will do.
OH is back tomorrow. I shall have a quiet evening watching TV.
Dordogne and Norfolk. Clay in Dordogne, sandy in Norfolk.
Just done the BMI thing (well it would have been rude not to!!) says 24. But I know medics are trying to get away from this measurement, because althlets with a lot of muscle can have a high result.I didnt know you could still get foam backed carpets! I think I am a world expert on insomnia!
Evening all. You're much younger than me Hosta - how can you need an old person check up!
No idea what I weigh or what my BMI is. If my clothes don't fit it's because I've been eating too much crap. I address it at that point. Works for me. Are we meant to go for these check ups or do they tell you if you need one?
Sad about Antonio Carluccio.
Horrible dank, cold day here. Can't recall the last time the temp was in double figures. Has to be at least ten days, unless it got there on Sunday when I was playing in the snow.
It's a place where beautiful isn't enough of a word....
I live in west central Scotland - not where that photo is...
Fairy, you will probably be asked to come for an MOT around the time of your next birthday. That's normal GP practice in Ayrshire and probably in your area too.
Over here we get called for an MOT - blood tests, heart rate, lung function, BP - and they send reminders about scans and tests for various common cancers and annual flu vaccines and 65+ vaccines (shingles). However, I suspect that if you never go to see your GP about any problems you may easily fall off their radar. In Belgium, kids can't start school if their vaccine certificates are not complete - MMR, polio, diptheria, TB, small pox......
Clearly athletes need a different BMI calculator. Can't compare a shot putter or a hammer thrower or a wight lifter to a sprinter!
I have spent a happy afternoon investigating the website of a plant nursery not too far from here. Loads of lovely tempting plants for my wish list. I foresee a major transformation of the reportedly fertile patch at the bottom to the left of the potager.......
Pdoc - have you looked closely at your MP lately? I have very little time for the current crop of politicians on all sides but he's a real prize!

Vendée - 20kms from Atlantic coast.
"The price good men (and women) pay for indifference to public affairs is to be ruled by evil men (and women)."
It's NHS standard practice Lyn ... but I think if you're already seeing the GP regularly for an ongoing condition they probably have all the info needed without calling you in especially and any issues get discussed at regular visits.
"I've never been called for a health check, perhaps it’s a private thing. "
I've never had, nor will I ever pay for, private health care. The NHS has served me well my whole life and I'm not giving money to a profit making organisation to do the same.
I was called in as I'm "over 50" They sent me a letter a while back, but it seemed to get lost before I attended to it.
Lyn, I'm surprised your petite little body even registered on the BMI scale.
Come on punkdoc, have a rant. It'll make you feel better.

Hi all.
Today I have mostly been feeling angry about Boris and Priti, do we really get the politicians we deserve?
We must have been very bad.
Not feeling very chatty, but I am sure I will soon.

My BMI says 20 in the green according to Doves link.

NannyB ... that's the reason they've brought out this Smart BMI calculator ... to take account of build, muscle, age etc.
Pdoc ... Boris and Pritti are sneaky conniving idiots ... both of them

Gardening in Central Norfolk on improved gritty moraine over chalk ... free-draining.

It will be a disgrace if Pritti doesn't get the boot.
