Hugs doc - we have plenty to spare whenever you need 'em.
Chilly here just now - about four when I came in at 5pm, so I think we may get a touch of frost tonight too Obs. I still haven't brought some of my Lord Bute pelargoniums in, but they've managed the recent three or four frosts. It hasn't been lower than about minus three or four anyway, and they're perfectly fine and flowering well. They'll just have to get on with it.
I've no time for people who evade tax - avoidance is slightly different, and if you can legally pay a bit less, I can't see that many people wouldn't do that.
Off for a look round with a cuppa, and then I'd better make the dinner...
It's a place where beautiful isn't enough of a word....
I live in west central Scotland - not where that photo is...

I agree Fairy ... if it's legal then leave them alone or change the law. If people feel comfortable with doing stuff that is legal then that's up to them. Some people may not feel comfortable with doing it and that's up to them also.
Once the media start ganging up against people because of their perceived morals or lack of them we're on a very slippery slope ... has no one read George Orwell?

Hello folks from the Lismore ferry. I have a photo taken on arrival in Oban which I was going to post for Joyce, but my phone isn't behaving so it'll have to wait. Lovely sights from the train - intermittent sun on mountains, golden larch trees etc.
Now it's cold and wet, but the sea is at least flattish...
Since 2019 I've lived in east Clare, in the west of Ireland.
Why do the rich get away with it but ordinary people get done for mistakes? I had 2 small savings accounts in the UK which I had forgotten about and hadn't used for years. One had less than £4 in it. This year I had a tax control by the French. They sent me a form to fill in and one question asked about foreign bank accounts. I stupidly declared those 2 accounts having looked through my files to find what I had. Wish I'd never mentioned them, I closed them in July. Now the local French tax office says the fine for not declaring them before is 1500€ each for the last 4 years, that's 12000€. I have a French notaire friend who said that was ridiculous and he put me in touch with a French tax barrister who says they are not declarable as I haven't used them or earned interest. He spoke to the tax office but they refuse to budge so he says we'll have to take them to court. This has been happening over the last few months and has stopped me sleeping.
Dordogne and Norfolk. Clay in Dordogne, sandy in Norfolk.

I agree Lily P ......... since when did the UK press hold the moral high ground?
I'm not religious, but the instruction 'Let him who is without sin cast the first stone' springs to mind
