Morin all, afternoon Pat, glorious sunshine this morning before the storm hits on Monday, radfy for me to go back to work. image

Fairy, Joyce! Hosta and Dacha, thank you for asking about my hands. I've been AWOL from the board as I've been using my time getting things done about the house that I never have time to do! After three weeks with the boiler broken, the parts arrived and were fitted and now I have a working boiler, hot water and heating!!! To celebrate! I painted the bathroom!

My hands have really found the time off healing which has told me its the type of work and being 27 as well as carpal tunnel, so maybe this can't be a long term career for me, we will have to see how it goes!

Fairy, would you believe I get through a pair of gloves every couple of months! Not rubbish ones either! And my hands still look a state!

Sounds like a lovely visit Chicky, and curry! image glad Chicklet is settled well, enjoy your explore and I hope your Father is continuing to make progress.

LG, glad to hear the course is going well and you have the time to pop in to keep us posted with how its all going image

Great to hear of all your progress too DD sounds like its really coming together and then some!

Lovely visit from Dove yesterday! Got some gorgeous gloves and hat! image thanks Dove, clever you!

BusyL, sorry to hear about your flood and fall, hope your feeling better and enjoying your trip, trips are better than falls! image

Hope everyone is keeping well and has a loively Saturday!

Greetings all.  Sounds like a busy day for most of us.    I'm just waiting for a large, cheesy damper to bake to have with beetroot soup and then sewing and sowing.

DL - I went to school in Lymm and lived in Grappenhall for a my teen years.  Lovely area for adults and kids!

Busy - hope you're stiff and achy bits aren't stopping you enjoying yourself.  I shall be passing thru there in a couple of weeks to meet up with Possum in Bilbao to explore and relax.   We'll definitely get to Gernika and maybe San Seb.

DD - hope your campaign is a success this weekend.  Cakes look good.

Chicky - that is the one thing we don't have here - curry houses.  Getting good at making my own tho now I've found the spice shop.

WW - hope your hands behave for a few years as you are enjoying it so much.

    Oven's beeping.  Catch you later.

Right ... back from the city ... had both a flu and  a pneumonia jab 'cos I'm hypothyroid and therefore eligible for the pneumo one early.  Didn't know that but I'm glad the nurse did.  I arrived early an hour early 'cos of the bus timetable but was seen early with no queuing.  I do love the NHS image

I popped into M&S and treated myself to a nice top for being A Brave Girl image and bough some 'sushi' for my lunch.

While I was sitting on the bench waiting for the bus home an 'older lady' (well, older than me) walked along the line asking people if they ate leeks.  The person next to me said No, but I said 'Yes' and she explained that she'd grown too many in her garden so she'd wrapped some up and brought them into the city and thought she'd see if anyone wanted any.

She said she 'wasn't selling them' but a small donation for Cancer Research would be appreciated.  I said I'd love some leeks and made a donation ... 5 lovely fresh young leeks pulled from the ground this morning ... they'll be lovely with the piece of gammon I'm cooking tomorrow image  Some people looked at her as if she was bonkers, talking to strangers in the street .......... but look at us, we talk to strangers on here all the time, don't we?  And we're not bonkers, are we .........................??? image

She sounds lovely.   We like leeks too.

We've received prescriptions for flu jabs - automatic now we're 27.   Never bothered in Belgium but might here as they had a bad outbreak last year and I don't want to miss anything by being laid up in bed.

Forgot to mention.......I was a bit naughty yesterday and ordered 5 clematis online and a yuzu plant - but I had been good taking lots of cuttings and sowing collected seeds.  Honest.

No need to make excuses for buying plants here Obelixx.  Maybe to your OH though.

Lovely lady with her leeks Dove. Neighbours round here distribute their surplus fruit and veg to each other. I've done very well with apples, plums and runner beans this year from them.

Busy, hope you are enjoying your break away and that aches and pains have improved.

Not naughty at all ... clematis nurseries have to make a living too ... in fact, it's our duty to help them do so from time to time image

Hi all. We get for free eggs when the locals can’t keep pace with supply. image

In bed a bit earlier than usual cause Hubby is exhausted from his day of learning stuff and getting up early.image

i must admit that I’m happy to get an early night as well.

Hope everyone has a good day. I’m glad Wonky is working out what she needs to do for her hands.

    Catch you all tomorrow.
