  • Evening all, I've managed to read back - hurrah, although sorry to read about your trials and tribulations Lizzie. image

Not been so busy with customers today but a queue of people one after the the other to 'talk' to me about something or other, there are days when I really feel like changing my name! image

One man wanted to set up a Faro Night, which I am sure is a super game, but not sure what I can 'bring to the table' as it were. Another wanted to advertise his massages, not sure a tea room is the best place, although I have ended up with a order for his Open Night, so am doing his 'nibbles' on Thursday. Another man came to service the (rather ancient) central heating system and stalled at the point when we realised there was no oil in the tank. Another phone call needed to be made. Trying to organise my Christmas decoration scheme, found a nice company in the UK who supply good stuff, going for a 'Scandi' look, but again, a phone call, an e-mail, another e-mail and now have to wait for a log in code before I can order. And of course delivery to France is not easy.

A friend is making me a compost heap system and he came just as I was going to try and close the cafe up, he wanted a full description of what I wanted - "a composting area the same as yours" I said, but he wanted a blow by blow account of what, where and how, at which point more customers sneaked in the door! And as lovely and flattering as it is, I didn't want to explain the recipes of each & every individual cake I make. Oh well, I thought, evening to myself, lock the doors, put the shutters down and have some peace & quiet, oh no - Daddy rang up, can I have Charlie as he is too busy to deal wih him? image Love Charlie to bits, but that meant cooking a proper dinner, discussing homework and tidying room and making bed, which I had hoped to put off until Thursday. image Also discovered that one of my delightful kittens has decided that Charlie's scrunched up duvet is a perfect toilet area!!!

So, tumble dryer is just about finished, so must go and re-make bed. And then it is the dreaded tax form to fill in. Glad I found time to vent on here a bit, sorry people, hopefully my future contributions will be more positive. image

Hope all is well, new plants sound exciting Dove, mystery plant looks good Hosta, poor birdie Pat. Lizzie, maybe soon we can meet again, when you are more mobile. :)

    Good evening all. x

DD ((hugs))  it's all grist to the mill as Ma would have said ... and I remember kittens at 'that' stage image much as we love them image

Hope you get to put your feet up and rest for a little while image

Dacha - I was mor etaken with the intriguing pattern on your legs.....image

Your feet look better than mine image  image

DD - I think the kitten isn't the only one sh***ing on you. 'Daddy' needs reminding that he has responsibility too perhaps? Cheeky of the customers too. Glad you're getting on so well with your business though - or maybe too well at times! You're such a grafter, so it's terrific that it's all coming together. We're here for your venting any time  image

I need to go and empty a chest of drawers now for shifting to daughter's room, and then empty and take apart my wardrobe, ready for the new being delivered tomorrow. Really can't be bothered after working outside today concreting in more path edging, digging,  and shovelling gravel.

Oh DD I was just thinking of you this morning too. I am glad you're busy. But please remember to stay firm and tell people no occasionally. We don't want you burning out.

Hi all....we had a great day here but stubbed my big toe again.......does anyone have the same problem as me....just hurting your big toe  ....my big toe ...yes the one I broke on Kos .....the one on the left foot just seems to scream out ....hurt me ......

Pat I love your fingers but these ugly toes are well ....just ugly..... my BH has put some iodine lines on them ....she tells me it will help......

Does iodine glow in the dark to help you remember where your feet are perhaps?

Funny isn't it how when we bash something it seems a target. Have you ever noticed that the moment you slice your finger you get a to do list positively littered with needing to wash your hands repeatedly. Last week I got a blister on my finger and had to do the ward rounds. Alcohol gel both in and out of every ward? I was nearly crying by the end of it

  • Fairy ....have a look at this ........so interesting  https://understandrussia.com/home-remedies-2/

Interesting, indeed Dacha... alarming, in places!  I like the disarming comment that "Most likely it will not harm you though".  image

Just about sums up my attitude to homeopathic remedies.

Interesting to see, though, that some home cures (eg inhaling steam - not necessarily from boiled potatoes!) are common to many cultures, presumably because they work.  However, I'm allergic to goose grass so I'm relieved that's not a common remedy for childhood scrapes in Britain...

Since 2019 I've lived in east Clare, in the west of Ireland.

For anyone who's interested, there's a lovely prog about Mario Lanza on Sky Arts just now, although it's repeated a few times this week as well.  image

Very interesting Dacha - about the grid lines - if somewhat odd!
