I agree with @Fire ...........I'm definitely suffering with hog envy!
  • A little hoglet came this evening - came alone - only for water.  So pleased to see we have at least one young one, it will have a good chance to fatten up before the winter arrives.  Last year we had little ones in November - that was concerning - we had one taken to the animal shelter where he was well looked after - they had a huge number of underweight youngsters taken in during November.

    That's really beautiful cornelly  :)
All my hog family were out last night, although one of the little ones is less brave than it's brother/sister. Spent ages watching them  :)
I'm hoping mine will get enough grub before winter too GD. It would be heartbreaking to lose any after being so lucky getting them in the first place.  :'(
It's a place where beautiful isn't enough of a word....

That moth looks amazing! I think sometimes we forget how incredible the tiny creatures are. I saw these 2 bumbles yesterday enjoying the buddleja. Also a hoverfly? (I'm not too good on ID of pollinators).

Very cute Jules. Yes - a little hoverfly. Gorgeous aren't they?
I've been enjoying watching the wasps drink at my pond recently. They get such a bad press, which is a shame.

I meant to say - Iamweedy's hoverfly  pix are stunning.
