    Hi Lancs Lass, it's not a Hawk-moth, it's a Angle Shades moth, same as this one image

  • Thanks Sheps. Disappointed that it's not a hawk moth, we have had them in our garden this year and previously, taking pollen like the humming birds that we have seen in America.

    Ah well, that at least explains why I couldn't find it on Google!

    I'm guessing they are probably as common as muck as well!!image

    Love your pheasant too. He's very smart as well.

    The ravens were being more compliant than usual on Sunday. Haven't done any walk photos yet, but I caught these two on one of  the little crags near the summit.  Bit out of focus I think, unfortunately, but I had to be quick!

    I think they get lots of bits and bobs at summit cairns too. All those folk who bring sandwiches and drop pieces....image
