We spent our minimoon in St Ives, in Mid October. The weather was balmy, the tourist traps were deserted. It felt like we had Trewithen to ourselves.
My friend in Houston battled back to her ground floor flat to find it exactly as she left it, apart from some milk that had gone off in the fridge. The water came close but not in. She is now safely in Pittsburgh awaiting the imminent birth of her second grandchild.
Ark building to be temporarily suspended today, aiming to take Salvia cuttings in the g/h, definitely my favourite plants of recent years.
Note to self, buy some new types next year.
Hope everything goes well for your dad Chicky.
Also planning on booking our winter sun holiday today, although not quite sure where yet. The pull of the Caribbean is still very great, if I can negotiate a deal with the hotel that we have visited several times over the years.
Have a good day.
How can you lie there and think of England When you don't even know who's in the team
We've had holiday gadding about India, Sri Lanka,, Malaysia, Thailand and the like and I've come home knackered. I think I'm just too old for it all now.
Give me a sun lounger and a rapidly improving tan and I'm a happy bunny.
Morning all. Lying in the sun drives me up the wall too! Each to his own.
We went to the Yorkshire Sculpture Park too, in July when we stayed with SIL and BIL. But I found the sculptures too modern and abstract for my taste. Michelangelo, Rodin and Degas are for me!
I hope your Dad's operation goes well, Chicky and that Chicklet's Australian adventure does too.
Dordogne and Norfolk. Clay in Dordogne, sandy in Norfolk.

Morning all.
Winter sun is always good punkdoc.
We're off to The Gambia Nov 20th for 2 weeks, then home for 4 weeks then off again in January for 4 more weeks there.
It's not for everyone, but it's cheap and cheerful: the sun and heat are a given and it's only a 6 hour, due South flight , so no time difference.
Pleasant for you Hosta but lazing around for four weeks would drive me up the wall.
I know you're not alone Joyce .

BL, I could easily find a home for that one in my garden.
Bet it's pricey! How deep are your pockets, Hosta?
