Pat I hope the wind dies down soon. Last thing you need when fighting a fire
I had a restless night: unfortunately my stomach threw a tantrum but at least I was able to make sure my guest slept soundly. She did: no surprises she's amazingly laid back unless there is the slightest hint there might be food around then she's a pacing excited wreck!
I've tried to upload a photo for you but it won't let me even on a very low quality.
His lordship intends on fitting the lounge floor today; wish me luck! I might take the hounds to go for a c a r ride to hunt some Christmas bulbs.
its verrry dark here this morning, not a puff of wind Am a bit stiff after yesterday's challenges in the garden, think it's best to keep going! Might loosen me off?

Morning all/afties Pat. Glad hubby is ok. Wind isn't good - for anything except drying the washing!
Wet and windy here, LP, though not too bad. It's to be wetter later. I got a good bit done outside yesterday - knew today would be a washout. Hope you aren't too sore. You're only 27, you'll soon shrug it off
Glad you're ok doc - hope you got a bitof sleep through the night
Sorry Hosta - I slept like a log again - although a couple of hours was on the settee
Anyone watching that new thingy Black Lake?
It's a place where beautiful isn't enough of a word....
I live in west central Scotland - not where that photo is...
I heard his voice on the truck to Fire control radio at 5,30 saying they were leaving the fire ground and returning to base. So, I expect I’ll hear from him in an hour or so. It’s been a very long day. Dinner is ready, so it won’t matter when he gets back.
I heard other voices saying they were organising for 3 bulldozers for tomorrow, plus more fire trucks, and aircraft. I hope Hubby gets a break, but you can never tell. I have to keep reminding him that he is no spring chicken any more, but it seems to go in one ear and out the other.
Pat, glad hubby is ok, and hope he won't have to be out tomorrow too. My experience of suggesting my hubby should slow down also falls on deaf ears. He just wants to fill every day he's got... a good philosophy really, but he does get very tired.
It's a calm, dry morning. I love autumn!
Since 2019 I've lived in east Clare, in the west of Ireland.
It’s now 6.45 and he should be home in half an hour. I’m worn out, but I’m sure he’s worse. I think an early night is called for. He went of duty at 7 am.
I can hear them calling for relief crews for the night, so it sounds as though it’s nowhere near under control. Not surprising after the terrible windy day we had today.
Good morning all Have been reading in bed this morning ... it's a beautiful morning out there ... OH and I will do some gardening stuff when it's a bit drier underfoot.
Hope everyone got some rest of some sort overnight ... Pat ... your OH and his mates must be totally shattered. Maybe the person who set the fire should be sent a bill ...? Even just for the fuel used by the firefighters ... that might concentrate the mind a bit ...

Pat - that's hellish. Literally.
Do they have penalties for anyone doing that? The expense of dealing with it, not to mention the human toll.

I think it was the property owner himself who lit the fire, Fairy. As usual they don’t prepare for high winds.
Hubby should be home soon. I will be glad if they don’t expect him tomorrow, I know he’ll volunteer if needed - it’s part of his makeup.
Hi fellow dotards!
Loved the Foo fighters too. Was not a great fan, but thought this years Glastonbury performance was fantastic.
Managed a few hours sleep, despite sleeping most of the day, very good news.
Sunny and warm here, so a bit of chilling in the garden.
Have a good day everyone.
