Those look amazing Liri ... my Pa always loved gladioli He was a farmer (and therefore not a gardener) but I had my own garden border and he bought me some gladioli corms and I grew them for him.
I do hope that Americans study their own history ... if they do there's always the chance that they'll learn something from it The same can be said of us of course we do seem to keep needing to re-invent the wheel, but at least we have the excuse of having more history to study
We have bright sunshine here this morning ... a walk is planned before lunch ... we have a parcel to post so the walk will take us past the Post Office ... as the PO is inside the village pub a 'libation' may be taken ... it'd be rude not to wouldn't it?

On our recent cruise we met many Americans, in fact there were only 4 Scots and 2 Aussies. We had delightful company and many a stimulating conversation There was only one uncomfortable moment when a Texan "lady" screamed at me fir sitting in her seat. It was a vitriolic outburst. Later many people came up to me and apologised for her rudeness. They were horrified I might think all Americans as rude.
i have to clear a lot of the herbaceous dieback today The garden is a mess!

Absolutely LilyP ... my experience of Americans has varied widely ... when the children were small we had close friends who were American and they were delightful ... educated, open minded, tolerant and extremely polite ... there have been others who were not ... same as in the UK

Morning - glad you enjoyed Harrogate Liri ......love a nice gladioli (or should that be gladiolus) here
I spent two years at school in America (when I was 11 and 12). I learned nothing but American history and geography. But I did come home rather good at Math (sic).
Taking littlest chicklet up to Birmingham today. All the bags are packed. Concentrating very very hard on what a wonderful time she is going to have, and how proud we are. ❤️❤️❤️
Think there are mixed emotions next door today ... son is returning home after three years in London with girlfriend while she was at uni ... van ready to go and fetch their belongings is parked outside.
Think NDNs were enjoying a quiet life

I think every society has the same problems Dove,
the more we travel the more we see it. In every corner of the world. No one in this world is perfect!
patience and understanding is sadly lacking nowadays

Morning.
Bright and sunny here so Fairy should have a good day on the hills.
Home to a quiet house tonight chicky. Glad your dad is making progress.
LP, I'm getting my usual 'itch' at this time of year to get things cut back too.
Chicky ((hugs))
