Can't be bothered having dinner. Girls are away to their Dad's, and I've been 'pond-ing'. My hands stink because I was sifting through the sludge to get the snails out, and repotting the oxygenators etc.

I've scrubbed them with various things - but I don't hold out much hope of a quick improvement...image

First decent dry day here for ages, and it was lovely and warm - about 18 at one point.  Not to last, so I'm glad I didn't do a hill, even though I was a bit annoyed. Last week's outing was probably the quivalent of two days' hills anyway. image

Been nice to potter and watch the birds and a few butterflies. Bees were going great guns at the sweet peas and those weird Cobaeas I grew this year.

It's a place where beautiful isn't enough of a word....

Very envious of you visit to Bressingham tomorrow BL.

Hope the sun shines for you.

Hosta, there was flooding on some parts of the coastal road this morning from the water running downhill from the farmers' fields.

  • "round here they're just called "fields" It's not stopped raining for weeks.image"

I feel you pain HF. I haven't been able to get onto my "lawn" for over a month...might be five weeks! image

You did, however, nearly make me spit my drink out when I read that!!! image image

Evening all. Sunshine and showers all day here - my neiece asked why there wasn't a rainbow - good question really.

Oh - Fairygirl - try some muscle rub... I applied some to OH's back earlier and it is impossible to wash the smell away. Should have used disposable gloves but typically have run out. Actually I might have a couple in car glove box (that sounds a bit sinister/weird I know!).

Strictly means Autumn is upon us... I'm not ready yet ?

My garden and I live in South Wales.

Aunty Rach, someone told us that you need the sun behind you to see rainbows. Don't know if that's correct or not, but it could explain why you couldn't see one.image

Hi Joyce. Yes it's very nice today. 15 c.and no wind for  a change. It got down to minus 2.7c last night.

We've been out the back again today for firewood. We hope it's the last load for the season.image

Morning Joyce/afties Pat - nice when there's no wind to drop the temp. Glad you're a bit better. It takes time though, doesn't it? Some warmer weather would certainly help.

No pottering today I think - already damp, and heavier stuff to come. Oh well -  yesterday was good, and productive. Hopefully it'll warm up a bit though - still single figures at the moment. Not sure if Arran would be very visible today Joyce!

Hands smell sligthly better today....but they'll be better after another shower and hairwash I should think...image
