I think that it very thoughtful Clari. I hope both dogs enjoy having a mate for sleepover!

Stew tonight (again - as loads left from yesterday). My sister said it was Autumnal-looking with the sweet potatos and carrots so it shall be named Autumn Stew.

My neiece is a food critic in the making as her face said it all when she tried the Eve's Pudding... looked like she was sucking a lemon!! I tried not to add too much sugar to the apples to make it a bit 'healthier' but I was busted. Second mistake: I put some cream next to the cake... apparently it should go on top - cue mini tantrum!! Still - keeps me on my toes to be critiqued!

My garden and I live in South Wales.

Washing is out and already getting wrapped around the line from the wind. Temp at 2 pm is 27 c. Just like last year - straight from winter to summer.

A calm morning - still quite dark - a crow is cawing from the oaks around the quarry and the robin in the garden is trilling away ...

Hi Dove. You having an early one today?

Pandemonium here. Hubby just got called out to a bushfire, so he had to scramble to get all his gear on and me boil up a thermos of water for his drinks, etc, etc.

he’s just left. Isn’t that typical. Someone has lit a fire on our first hot day and with high wind as well, so of course it’s got away from them.  I’ll find out where it is eventually, but I can’t see sky to the north except pale grey (the direction thevwind is coming from, of course). I try not to worry when he gets a call out, but easier said than done.

Yes Dove, it warms my heart to see them again. Mum is also there but skitters away if she thinks I’m hiding behind the curtain with a camera.image

Ive heard on the two-way radio he leaves on the kitchen counter for me, that the fire is in the National Park near Berridale. Not too close to us here thank goodness. I think they are handing responsibility over the the National Parks people. Not sure how that affects the Volunteer Rural fire brigade people, but it sound as though there at least 5 fire trucks onto it.

    Good morning all

Pat I hope hubby is home now with a cuppa in his hands. I think it's marvellous what he does, but I can understand the worry it must cause you.

Dove its quiet here now all the swallows have gone but the song thrush and her chicks are enjoying the rowan tree, it's a Joseph rock so I would have enjoyed seeing the berries for a bit longer but I guess their need is greater than mine.

Dry at the moment. Hoping to get some serious tidying up done out there

    Morning all.

Great sleep Pat, not at all great about the fire.

Yet more rain overnight but might well dry up.

    Devon.
