Sorry to hear about Mrs Dacha. My OH is prescribed a triptan for his migraines - one of the older ones - but I think they all work basically the same way. He has found them very effective BUT they do induce rebound headaches if he has a really bad migraine and ends up taking several triptan pills over three days, so some caution is needed. We do call them 'Magic Pills' though - they do work like magic most of the time.
I hope they help her - migraines are miserable. We think we've finally worked out what causes OH's migraines. It's taken us about 3 years to figure it out though.

I had a couple in a few weeks ago, both requiring same triptan nasal spray. Both got migraines. I left a note to check Carbon monoxide levels... does the boiler need servicing etc.
Cheers all.....what really pisses me off is that I have never had a headache in my life ....period .....I just do not know what it feels like , I have had back ache , sciatica yes all ....my poor wife is crumpled over , head in hands sometimes ....and I can't say 'I , know how you are feeling" .......so after the first Relpax .....she felt great but a bit nauseous ......let's see how it goes!
Dacha, I use sumatriptan, which I also refer to as 'my magic pills' - they have transformed my life. I start to feel nauseous after about 20 mins, sometimes longer, and when I first took one I felt awful and wondered what on earth I'd done... then suddenly both migraine and nausea were gone. Miracle! That's the pattern I'm used to now - feeling worse is a precursor to imminently feeling completely better. I hope the eletriptan works for your wife.
Hi everyone else - on holiday at the moment and only picking up tablet or phone for a quick read every now and then. Hope all goes well tomorrow, Chicky, and hope you and your OH feel better soon, Pat.
'If you have a garden and a library, you have everything you need.'
Morning or g'day Pat ......hope you and OH will be up and about soon.......woke up to find OH brewing some green tea in the kitchen......looks like the eletriptan is working.....touch wood!
once again thanks for all the kind words LG.....like the 'magic pills' ....great to hear they work for you
Morning Dacha and Dove. We're stuck inside - splitting headache which is not relieved by panadol.
Sunny with intermittent clouds scudding along with high alpine winds. It's rather irritating because I decided I to colour some pages and the headache plus changing light from the clouds have made it really difficult to see. My eyes don't want to see fine stuff.
Best wishes to all especially those not feeling the best.

Good morning all
Glad Mrs D is feeling better. Take it easy today Pat.
Heavy rain first thing this morning ... It's stopped for now but I don't think it's the last rain we'll see today.
