Sympathy passed on hosta, I had earache, in my 40s my then GP said was I going for a second childhood! Hope you have got it sorted now.Forcast said rain last night, it was hovering around 30 all day, went shopping with grandaughter at 7, hoping to miss rush hour, came out of the shop, it was almost dark, but still very close, a sensible 14d now, and breezy, so awful for those poor guys in America, with that amount of rain.
Dacha - Bake Off hasn't changed - format is exactly the same, so it's all very comforting
Noel and Sandi were great. I like Prue Leith and thought she came across well. Hard act for them all to follow and I thought they did a superb job.
Dark mornings chicky - bit gloomy One of the great advantages of being further north - still properly light at 6am just now.
Hope Hosta got a bit more sleep - that's very unpleasant. He needs to be fit for the repartee, Dove, or the 'cheeky (Glesgae) banter' as it's known here
NannyB - I did whooping cough in my thirties, and chicken pox in my forties so I'd rather skip any of the other childhood ailments if possible
Supposed to stay dry today but more dark clouds looming so I'm keeping my fingers crossed as there's washing to do, and I should do some stuff outside later if I can drag myself from the sofa
I'll have a quick look round before I go - at least it's a short week for me! Have a good day everyone.
It's a place where beautiful isn't enough of a word....
I live in west central Scotland - not where that photo is...
Hope you've dropped off, Hosta, and can get an early appointment to have the ear looked at.
When our son was just toddling, he came into our room after a restless night, crying, pointing to his ear and saying "Ear. 'Ole!" He might not have known the right words, but we understood the meaning...
I had chicken pox at 17, Fairy, which was bad enough. Poor you!
I'd said I wouldn't watch Bake Off (out of solidarity for the Beeb, I suppose), but was seduced by it last night - can't resist a yummy cake.
There was a robin sitting on the arm of The Seat when I wandered down the garden a few minutes ago.

Since 2019 I've lived in east Clare, in the west of Ireland.
Forecast said light rain and after the last few hot days I thought I'd water the oval bed, but just as I was unravelling the hose pipe the heavens opened. It's really pouring.
I hope Hosta gets antibiotics before Dove arrives. Mustn't neglect your ears.
Dordogne and Norfolk. Clay in Dordogne, sandy in Norfolk.
Posts
......but the witty repartee is just as important
paracetamol seem to have kicked in. I'm heading back to bed.
Wish me luck.

Indeed so.
Morning all.
Hosta - , earache is on par with toothache in my book
Don't neglect it.
it's raining here
Chicky hope the walk goes well
Gardening in Central Norfolk on improved gritty moraine over chalk ... free-draining.
Dry just now Dove. Grass man will be here at 8am so hope rain keeps away for a while.
