This is the first time I've managed to get on since heading out to work.
I really enjoyed my day at work.
Boss asked me to sort out the plant area. " right off" the rubbish, and then offer to staff FOC. Mark down stuff which had " gone over" and just water and generally look like someone cares for them. There's a camellia there for goodness sake. Since when? April?
A regular customer stopped for a chat on her way into store.
" What's happened to this place? In the last 6 weeks , there's no staff on the shop floor, the shelves are empty, and when you can find someone, they used to stand 6 ft tall, now they look like they've been driven 4 feet into the ground"
I reported this to the Boss, word for word.
I headed off on my driving route and the sun shone, nice break time between drops , for a change, and back a wee bit early to pick up my freebies. ( 2 little wicker tee pees of dwarf French beans and a nice Salvia which has gone over , but lots of lovely green buds at the base. It'll be given a good hair cut in the morning.
Glad you managed to rescue some plants Hosta - does your store always suffer from demoralisation in the manic summer period, or are they doing something different/worse this summer?
Exciting hedgepig news ......never seen one here, despite many strategically placed woodpiles. But we have badgers, which is meant to ward them off.
Familiar sight Steephill - they seem to be getting braver and braver round here ???. You got some great pictures though
We are both still feeling rotten. I've just taken another couple of Panadol. Splitting headache. On the plus side, we may be building up our own immunity to these latest bugs, so the non- use of antibiotics is probably working.
We've had a sunny day, cool, but wind is horrendous, so we havent felt the need to venture out - except as usual, I managed another load of washing which promptly wrapped itself around the line.
All in now and the afternoon light is fading, so another night ahead of early to bed and keeping warm.
Morning all. Feeling very underwhelmed with work at the moment and starting to wonder whether it would be easier to get a less brain taxing job that is actually on decent money. For a "managers" role the money I get is a joke. But that's what they can do when they're a charity. I'll give it six months then look around; any less looks bad on my CV.
I'm sure it's just coincidence that everything hurts because the germs made it to my side of the bed.
joyce I rang her mother when Hubby got sick and told her to tell Regina not to visit for a couple of weeks because we wouldn't want her to spread the wog to her mother who is well into her 80s. We haven't heard a peep from her since.
Hosta that sounds like a positive day ... I wonder if things will change ...
Clari ((hugs)) hope you find a positive way forward.
Its a lovely morning ... Bright with high cloud and not a breath of wind.
This morning I will make some brioche buns to have with homemade burgers tonight, then go for a walk and possibly cut th grass too. Well, that's the current plan, but I'm flexible
Gardening in Central Norfolk on improved gritty moraine over chalk ... free-draining.

Hello Joyce and Chicky.
We are both still feeling rotten. I've just taken another couple of Panadol. Splitting headache. On the plus side, we may be building up our own immunity to these latest bugs, so the non- use of antibiotics is probably working.

Rest and warmth will help Pat and no late night visitor!

Clari - it's important to enjoy whatever job you are doing.
Clari - I can only say "you too!"
