I've just had a lovely long chat with No 1 daughter and now Hubby is home with beer and white wine (NOT FOR ME!!)

Autumnal here too. Leaves falling and colours changing. Forecast for tonight is down to 9C so I'm thinking of heating.

    Devon.

Joyce21, where are you that you have autumn already?

Snap, Fairy - I lost most of my eyelashes too (they never grew back), and have scars from where some of the spots became infected.  I can still remember the pain of chicken pox spots down the throat.  image

My sugar peas have outgrown their earlier attack of mildew and are producing more pods.  image

Autumn colours are starting on witch hazel and parrotia here, and I'm only as far north as the Pennines...

Since 2019 I've lived in east Clare, in the west of Ireland.

I though GBBO was fine ... I've always had a soft spot for Noel F and like Sandi Toksvig too ... I thought Noel was a bit tentative, but he'll ease himself into the show I'm sure.  I've always had a lot of time for Prue Leith too, and I think Paul may do a bit less leching with her beady eye on him.

I do however question the sanity of anyone who voluntarily bakes chocolate mini rolls image

I don't think I've eaten a mini roll since my teens - don't like normal Swiss roll either - so the thought of baking one is just plain odd.  I suspect, given her cooking pedigree, that Paul is just a teeny bit in awe of Prue.  So much the better.

Still cold here and we've had about 5 drops of rain.   Certainly not enough to register on our rain gauge which registers in 10ths of mms.

Sewing is going well tho and Possum has lost 6 of her chocolate mug cake and pancake kilos so is now ready to try a new shape of frock and top.   Still can't "see" a pattern from an illustration tho........

It's turning cooler here and it's been wet most of the day ... the car is more or less packed except for the last minute things and a couple of plants (what were they for image image).

An early supper and early to bed and we'll be up and on our way at first light ... well, that's the plan ...

Back from visiting friend who has a bad back. She's elderly and has trouble walking.

Charity BBQ (orphanage in Sierra Leone) on Saturday, shopping for it tomorrow morning. Hope the weather is OK on Saturday. Have had a decent amount of rain today and now it's a lot cooler, 22°.
