I find lichen on rocks and trees fascinating Pat. Fairy is a lichen fan too.

Morning all.  Sat out for my first coffee. A bit of a chill in the air but sunny image

Morning all! It's raining heavily here and doesn't look like it'll be stopping any time soon.

I've been in my new job 12 weeks; doesn't time fly when you're constantly bombarded with new "oh my goodness how did this not get noticed before??" every three minutes.

I'm off on a training course tomorrow on how to do my job which I have a feeling will be all together too fluffy for the style I've been using of late. We'll see. In all honestity I just want to see what the average age of a manager is as I find it rather funny when I turn up and people don't expect someone so young (I even look older than I am!)

Oh well; at least all this rain will be (I hope) compacting the muddy area where I am digging away. It was the dumping ground for the soil we lifting from the pond. I want to level it back (this means reducing its height by two foot) to the surrounding grass level and then it'll be home to one of the greenhouses and possibly lawn possibly a flower bed.

You can imagine the muddy footprints throughout the house.

For anyone that wonders: yes I have been doing the great escape type trying to hide the soil around the garden! Scattering it across the lawn, building up flower beds, hiding it in the hedge...

Pat, the garden is a great help. I'd be lost without it.

Dove and Yvie, hello to you two as well. I'm half asleep - well worn out really. I'm getting too old for this firewood loading onto the trailer Business. Roll on spring.

joyce, I'm glad the garden helps. I'm a bit the same. I get a bit down when I can't get out there.

Monring all/afties Pat - think you could do with feet up and a cuppa! That's hard work.

Love the lichen - as Joyce says image

Having been on courses in a previous job, Clari, I can only say - thank **** I don't have to do those any more...image Good luck with it.

Beautiful day here but chilly  right enough. Put my towel out to dry and it's currenly 9 degrees. There's condensation on my bedroom window too.

How is the alpine trough going Joyce - or are you still looking for a trough?

Hope you're a bit more optimistic today Yvie. Doesn't help when you don't sleep.

Going for a quick look round before work. Have a good day everyone if you can - whatever the weather.

It's a place where beautiful isn't enough of a word....

I live in west central Scotland - not where that photo is...

Yvie, hope you are OK, a bit calmer now?  Stuff is always worse at night and early morning, I had the most horrendous nightmare, and woke up at 4, should have given you a call! "grey" this morning, rain was forcast yesterday, had a storm with hailstones on Saturday, I hadnt watched "Monty" on Friday, so wasnt expecting it, youngest Daughter was just going home.  We had all (dogs, grandkids,Hubby) gone for  a picnic up the "Downs" opposite, watching the weird cloud formation in the distance. She is terrified, put off going home, it was all over in a couple of hours, and cleared up again.   Two days later one of my roses was WILTED", the pots were really dry! I expect to water the pots, even with the rain some near shed, etc dont get a soaking, but the beds!!
