It's obviously one of those days ... have just heard from our 15 yr old niece (the one who's just been promoted in the Army Cadets) that she's got either a broken ankle or torn ligaments (A&E haven't given a definite decision) and is on crutches. I rang in response to a text ... she said that she was getting ready to go to Judo class last night and ran down the stairs and fell ... her ankle hurt but she got up and went to Judo anyway ... someone threw her and there was a loud cracking sound ... she spent the rest of the evening in A&E. As I said to her, better this end of the holidays than at the beginning; she'd have missed her surfing holiday and her cadet camp and promotion and her DofE Silver etc. At least going back to school in September on crutches will mean she gets made a bit of a fuss of OH will get an appropriate get well card from the garden centre .
Plant named after the rainbow is Iris.
Gardening in Central Norfolk on improved gritty moraine over chalk ... free-draining.
Was 5 the problem one?Genuinely didn't know that. I got 17 , but I didn't know the rainbow one, despite loving the plants
I couldn't remember the Babylon one either
Mr/Mrs Peacock made an appearance and I got a pic. They do like sunning themselves on my gravel. Every time I see butterflies, I think of A Bug's Life - when Hiemlich emerges 'look at my beautiful vings'...
'and from up here, you all look like little ants'. I love that film
Been shifting plants by the pond. A little tricky but some progress has been made. The soil is saturated, sticky clay, so it has been a bit of a chore moving some of it for replanting the Libertia. He is now safely in, with a better bit of drainage under him.
It's a place where beautiful isn't enough of a word....
I live in west central Scotland - not where that photo is...
Ouch Dove, I felt that. Obelixx I agree its soooh handy having kids that dont drink, makes up for all the years I was taxi service to them. Last night went out for a meal with youngest daughter, (taxi) oldest daughter, and a friend I havent managed to see for a couple of years due to work hours, where she lives, where her bloke lives and speights of ill health. Talking of Hubby (who is going round the bend) has his Urol=ogy appointment on Friday.

No 4 is Iris, but that is not the one that caused the problem.
