I did see it advertised, I have a very homophobic Hubby, (funny like a lot of men, he thinks its normal and natural for women!!) so I may well download it at some point. My late Mother always had a gay best friend, I often did as well, found they were more sympathic and kind to problems than my women mates, even over "the time of the month", heard on the news at work one morning, a friend and her children had died in a fire, It was David who came to my rescue, not my female colleagues, AND they were all nurses, so used to being compasionate.Right better get showered and going soon.
Dove, I have to agree about Man in the Orange Shirt. I blubbed like a mad blubbing thing.
There was another programme with some "older" chaps talking about their experiences prior/ following decriminilasation . One of them lost his partner 2 years ago after 67 years together. When you consider that the first 19 years they were together, they were breaking the law!!
Yeah, Hosta. I'm feeling rather irritable but I'll get over it. He slept for a couple of hours, and I've made a top of the stove stew for dinner which has lots of bits no pieces in it and it's ready to eat when he's in the mood. Not a very elegant meal, but has good flavour. There is both chicken and lamb in it . It smells ok.
I've got a Get Well Soon card in a drawer somewhere that my Mother sent me along the lines of 'I hear you are ill, I am very well. Please stay away until you are better'. You'd probably have got on well with her, Hosta. She was a good gardener too, and tended to adopt the same attitude with her plants. 'Right - that's it. Live or die, it's up to you, just get on with it, would you?'
Pat - hope he's feeling less grouchy at least.
Forecast is dry today - at last - so will get on with some gardening and maybe catch up on the TV it's sounds like I've missed tomorrow, when it's going to be raining. Again.

Looks like the weather will be ok for cutting grass and getting the washing dry today

Tough love eh?

raisingirl, your Mother sounds like "my kinda girl".
Hosta ... have you read Rose Collis's biography of Coral Browne "This Effing Lady"? The part about her marriage to my second cousin, the actor Philip Pearman is so moving. http://www.independent.co.uk/arts-entertainment/books/reviews/coral-browne-this-effing-lady-by-rose-collis-397885.htmll
