Lilyp, I'd love to hear what you think of your dehydrator - wouldn't like to,have led you astray.
i was thinking about people waking early and having sleep problems earlier - our problem at the moment is trying to stay awake! For the last three mornings, when we were having a nice sleep in, we got woken by either workmen or telephone calls. Amazing. It's as if they know.
Good morning. Putting together the last bits of our picnic for today's outing to Damvix. Looks like a sunny day for it.
No spare raspberries here but expect to have plenty in coming years and will freeze or coulis them as we don't eat much jam. I'd have thought making jam wouldn't take much longer than a Bakewell and you could take some with you on hols if you're self catering.
LP - definitely low heels or flats. Cobbles are killers on heels and leave the heels all scuffed and needing surgery too. Have a great trip. Photo opportunities galore.
Clari - Our dogs love to be towel dried or run around in sunshine but at the hairdresser's Rasta gets stuck in a drying cabinet!
Pat - at least you can go back to sleep if you need to. Nothing wrong with daytime snoozing when you're convalescing.
FG - since they reintroduced wolves to Yellowstone the whole ecology has changed - fewer grazing bison and deer so plants get to grow, less soil erosion and more water retention, beavers flourish so other wildlife comes and thrives including migrating birds. Greater diversity all round. Fine in the remoter hills of Scotland but probably not a solution for Chicky.
Hope everyone has a good day. Catch you later.

Guess what? More rain overnight. Maybe I won't be cutting the grass??
Dove, if you've room in the car, Hubby would like some raspberries.
What a total *rse I am!! I've listed our annexe as a holiday let for the last 3 weeks, but didn't change the flippin' date after the first week!! I've changed it now but don't think we'll get anyone in for Saturday.
Morning all, and good to hear you sounding a bit perkier, Pat.
We're going to bed too late at the moment - OH is having to get up for work and I'm waking tired, but we still do it, don't know why. Gone 1 the last few nights.
Got a more satisfactory amount done in the garden yesterday, mainly potting things on and weeding. Obelixx, my cuttings are a bit random - we sold our childhood home last month so I rushed round taking cuttings of lots of possibly unsuitable things. The roses I'd done before have taken well, also two types of fuchsia (thought the ones I like had died but they're sprouting new leaves now) plus platycodon, hibiscus, berberis and some kind of willow. Too soon to be sure with most of them. Also got most of the school shopping done. And fairy, they tell me they spent 15 minutes each tidying their rooms. They could do with 15 days, I reckon, but 15 minutes a day is more achievable...
Chicky, 'birthday Boxing Day' made me laugh. We have that here too. The kids insist on referring to 'birthday eve' (and even 'birthday eve eve'), 'birthday Boxing Day' and, because my mum's birthday was on 27 December and led to that day always being referred to as such: 'birthday Nana's birthday'. That probably makes no sense to anyone, but we all know what it means! Hope fairylet had a good day.
Hope evryone going on holiday has a wonderful time.

Have a lovely break - I'd echo the sensible footwear thing. Have you got walking shoes? Good support for your ankles on cobbles. It's easy to go over on those things. They might look pretty, but....
Brightening up here, and I've been notified my new pond liner has arrived so I'll get it later.
LG - I can only dream of 15 minutes with the older one. It would take Dove's skip - or two - to empty that lot, and a team of workers
Obs - I think a wolf would be ideal for chicky - no chance of any burglars for a start!
Hope you have a good day.
Hosta - glad you had a better kip. I'd have been better coming down to you for a hol if I'd known - forecast is awful most of the weekend where I'm heading tomorrow!
Better go - things to do, people to see...catch you all later. Have a grand day
It's a place where beautiful isn't enough of a word....
I live in west central Scotland - not where that photo is...
Hosta glad you had a better night. Request for raspberries noted ... I will try to remember .. please feel free to remind me
Obs ... we still have lots of jam from last year ... we don't eat much of it and when we moved son I noted a few jars of 'Mum's jam' and 'Mum's chutney' in the cupboard that haven't been eaten ... now he's dashing around the globe his eating patterns have changed. I tend to do most preserving alternate years, otherwise we'll need a bigger garage ... although OH does plough through the cucumber pickle at a rate of knots ... I will have to make some more of that before too long.

Keep the weather going please Joyce, OH coming along to golf today?
We are going on a river cruise of the Danube. Apparently we walk through a lot of cobbled towns so I think I will need sensible shoes!

i have only done herbs, thought that the best to start with. was quite surprised st just how much they shrivel up but the strength of flavour is good.

Morning Hosta, glad you had a better sleep.
Hi LG, It was 1 ish for me too , but then I slept, pretty much, until 7.
LP- yogurt? It would need to be ice cream....
