Pat.......spot on.....the steep sloping roof is very typical here to let the snow slide off on to unsuspecting Irishmen....seriously ....it has happened  image

Ob .......great sans aubergines recipe .....one to try.....image

Lots of smiles here as it is the third birthday of my one and only granddaughter .....actually same birth date as my childhood favorite Enid Mary Blyton image

Dacha ... Me ... Sprinting genes ??? LOL ... image No way ... I was reasonable at slow and steady cross country ... But never competitive. I'd probably have been better at javelin but we didn't do it in our school. I was quite good at netball tho

Morning all, up at 6, washing and dishwasher on, (economy 7) collected "presents" left by dogs, dispatched some slugs, found 2 aham making LOTS more down on the shingle (who said they dont like it!) near my veg plot. 12d at the mo. Dove DONT mention the A word, perhaps winter will come and go quickly, then eh? I didnt bother with cucumbers this year, hubby hates salad, Monty said courgettes were the way to go they like the damp conditions, in the UK, well, I have had 1 decent size one, 1 tiny one, which has already roten and had to be made even smaller, and not many on my plants, the ones in the greenhouse are covered in slug slime.  Went to a lovlly nursery about 10 miles away, got a few (!!!!!) plants shown on last weeks GW,said "blame" Monty, the lovelly helpfull chap said yes he knew, asked if he watched GW, he laughed said no, but I wasnt the first person to go in get these plants and say that!

Morning all. I've been away on a course this week; it wasn't particularly challenging but I am now shattered. Silly Clarington booked her pop up display at an event today so no chance for a rest just yet.

I feel like it's possible to get physically tired from just having to smile and be "switched on" all the time.

Tonight will be a true fudge-it-friday of comfort foods and a bar of chocolate (If I remember to pick one up) and whatever nonsense I can find on the tv tonight.

I came home to find my sunflowers are flowering! I feel almost sad; because I've waited for so long now it feels like it'll be over all too soon. I might treat myself to some shop brought sun flowers to have in the house.

Keep the mugs of tea flowing!

Morning all. Sunny here too although we've still wind from the ski slopes. I've actually been trying to draw some banksia leaves. Ive still to tackle the banksia cones. Luckily they're are already dry, so time isn't an issue like the branch of leaves.I haven't done any proper art work for a few years - just colouring other people's work.image Still, it's relaxing and enjoyable. I'm learning a lot about coloured pencil instead of watercolour.

Hubby is still coughing like crazy and is fed up. Not much we can do about it except the bits of medication we've put together.

    Have a good one all.

Thinking about the sporting comments, my thing was swimming competition. Still got a few old ttrophy cups collecting dust somewhere.  Hubby was a runner and Aussie rules football. He's got some trophies around too. Don't really know why we keep these things.  The kids wouldn't want them.
