Nice to see horses being looked after properly . The flies have been mad around here this summer. Our neighbour's (very spoilt but quite adorable) horse has been sporting one of those fly nets. Hope your little equine family are happy together, BL.
I'm just about back with you now. One of my dogs broke his leg yesterday. There's this looong time waiting for scans to try to see if there was some underlying cause (i.e. cancer) because it takes quite a lot of force to break a dog's femur in two places and he wasn't hit by a car. He's now out of surgery and scans and tests all appear to be clear. One more set of results will take a couple of weeks to come back but hopefully he'll be back home by the weekend, carrying rather more metal than he used to but at least he doesn't have to worry too much about airport scanners.
Circumstantial evidence suggests collision with one of the other dogs. He's 11 years old so it could be a long slow recovery but that's better than I was fearing yesterday and last night.
So, I'll read back now. I'm sure I saw some cake......

That must have been so worrying for you raisingirl. Cuddle-therapy will be prescribed, no doubt. I have some apple and blackberry muffins cooking if you want me to save one for you?
Hope everyone else doing ok? The horses are so majestic looking.
Just having a potter outside until the oven beep goes...
Oh Raisingirl ((hugs)) ... nasty break ... poor doggy ... one of brother's young labs did that a couple of years ago, getting overexcited, dashing about and just slammed herself into a fence ... as you say, femur shattered in two places. If it's any consolation she's hale and hearty now
Gardening in Central Norfolk on improved gritty moraine over chalk ... free-draining.
Just had to put my fingers in my ears ... the Red Arrows are using Norwich airport as a base for a couple of days while they do some shows over this side of the UK ... they just did a very low flypast over our garden

GWRS, I used to ride Hannah, the dark one, she was a nervous ride but she enjoyed dressage. The sand school was safer than the monsters in the forest, so she thought, and she's a show off! She's retired. The younger grey mare is my daughter's. I don't ride any more.
Dordogne and Norfolk. Clay in Dordogne, sandy in Norfolk.

The Red Arrows will be up here in a few weeks Dove for the Air Show at the beach and they fly over in front of the house. Love watching them.

Help yourselves gang (more in the tin) but make sure we save one for raisingirl. Oh - and don't spoil your dinner!
