Morning all. I'm a bit tired today - must be another stage of this dratted lurgy. We went to town for shopping today, but I just relaxed in the car while Hubby did the wander throughout. It even got a bit warm, sitting in the car. Bit of a surprise, since there was another heavy frost this morning.

if I'm not careful, the fruit trees will be flowering before I've managed to clean them up.

Morning all/afties Pat if you look in.

I was awake at 5 with the fab thunderstorm overhead here Dove. There had been a weather warning for heavy rain, although no mention of thunder which seems odd, but it certainly felt very thundery yesterday. Lots of thunder, lightning and torrential rain for over half an hour. It was quite spectacular - we don't get too many of them.  It had been wet since about 10 last night anyway, but it's drying up now and looking a bit better.  Sorry Hosta - but I did eventually get back to sleep for a few hours image

Enjoy your night out GWRS. image

Sounds like you had a lovely night too Obs.  image

Do you think BL will be a bit weary today?

Lovely pic Yvie - so glad all went well for you. You sounded so much happier and relaxed in your post  image

Hope chicklet is better today chicky - and, more importantly, hope you're all fine! Don't pass it to me though....or my fairylet. We have cake to eat later.  She's positively ancient today - no more teenagers here now. I'm far too young to have 'adults' in the house....image

Morning all, afternoon Pat. Glad you're feeling better enough to leave the house. Take it easy though.

    GWRS that sounds intriguing!

Need to do some new term / starting secondary school shopping today but first will have a little potter in the garden while the kids veg out in front of mindless TV... or tidy their rooms (hollow laugh).

I have a horrible feeling I didn't congratulate littlest chicklet on the exam results - think I may have thought it but not typed it whilst on a quick read-through. So congrats!

    Off to inspect my cuttings.

Sorry that I haven't sent best wishes to those with wedding, anniversary and birthday  events. My head is very fuzzy. Maybe I'll be able concentrate in a day or so.image

Hope you are better very soon, Pat.

    Morning all.

The BBQ party went well, people brought some good salads and yummy puds. They helped too and someone did quite a bit of washing up. I won the cake competition with my fruity courgette cake and I was the only one who'd done a vase of flowers so I won that too! I did a simple gardening quiz. There was one question that no one knew the answer to and one question that only one person knew. The rest was easy.  2 people didn't come, ill, and there was enough meat left for 2 people! We'll have it tonight. It was a really warm evening. OH met a man who he really liked, they chatted all evening. They did similar work and both lived in East Sussex before coming to France.

Pat - I'm sure everyone understands that you've been very unwell. Hope you're on the mend soon. The garden will take care of itself for  now. It's far more important that you take it easy.

LG - tidying bedrooms....aye right. Have you got the camera ready?...image

Dove - for crying out loud. That's dreadul.

I spotted a butterfly so went out to see,and it was  a peacock. First one this year. Hardly seen any butterflies of any kind. It's been very poor, cold weather for them, all at the wrong times - worse than usual. Buddleias are usually hoaching with them.

Hello everyone.   Cloudy here but dry.  Not feeling too energetic today as Cosmos was back on full night time cuddle form.

Will do an SM run and fabric shop to get stuff for Possum's Star Wars costume.  The Troc nearby has a wooden bed frame that might come home with us for the potager.  Had a discussion with OH last night about raised bed dimensions and arm lengths and think h'es got it at last but there's the old donkey shed sat at an angle and a concrete slab so I'm going to use real beds to make raised beds in the awkward bits.    OH is out playing golf but too far away for it to be a rain dance so I shall leave the cushions on the chairs.......   Cosmos likes the comfort.

Think yesterday's yellow butterfly may have been a Clouded Yellow but the brow jobs didn't sit still long enough to identify.

Pat - take it easy.  These things take time.

Dove - just make sure they don't charge extra while they take the time to buy a lorry small enough.......

FG - hope you're not feeling old now the teens have gone.

Busy - sounds good and satisfying.  Nice for OH to find a kindred soul too.

LG - school stuff here too at least as far as stationery is concerned.  What cuttings?   I have done well with roses this year but not mint - really - nor fuchsias.  However, since a lot of our grass is really rampant apple mint and I have very happy Moroccan, ginger and strawberry mint in pots so I shan't be stressing over the mint.

Greetings to everyone.  Hope it's a good day for you.

Unfortunately, the 'teens' have gone, but not the fairylets  themselves.....image

Brilliant BL. Hope you're having a peaceful day today and getting your feet up a bit. If I was at work, I could have made you a Supreme Champion rosette!  image

The sun has put in an appearance so there's a wash on. Better make the cake and get outside and see how soggy everything is after all the rain. The newly dug pond has about six inches in the bottom of it. The only problem with having solid clay in the garden. It'll hopefully drain away so that I can do the new liner which I should get later today.
