Ob......thanks for the Italy link .....had to move my VPN location to the US to view though
Lily......great stash of wood......will post a pic of our latest delivery tomorrow .....I'd love to compare prices as well......we used to have to heat the dacha by electricity until my industrious wife managed the project to get us connected to a gas line over a kilometer away . We use the wood for our banya (sauna), the fireplace when it gets really cold and of course the BBQ . In Moscow it's all centrally supplied heating .....to turn the heat down traditionally .....you open the windows
Ahh dacha that's all well a s good if your windows open!!!! Our wood is our own we are almost self sufficient here due to very old beeches coming down in the last four years
I believe it is a beautiful day today in Moscow ?

The families have gone off to visit a local chateau then daughters are going back home and son will be leaving tomorrow. Cool and windy today. We lunched in the dining room and the children were in the kitchen.
Dordogne and Norfolk. Clay in Dordogne, sandy in Norfolk.
Home from Doc's. Blood test tomorrow morning to see about arthritic bits in hands but BP great at 11/7 and ticker and lungs sounding good. Came home via PO and now have supplies of gochujang and bean paste for Korean recipes.
What on earth will you do with yourself when they've all gone Busy? No Open Garden or UK trips to plan either, not for a while anyway.
I have watched Italy Unpacked at least twice and still find it fascinating stuff and entertaining too. Would love to visit Italy and the south one day when we've finished the shower room and found some house, dog and cat sitters.
Joyce - hope the roof gets fixed before the rain returns.

we are still burning our own two beeches. Should be enough to see us for a bit yet. Something always comes down during the winter!

Yes, my Russian ex DIL never ever understood my son's anxiety about heating bills when she had the heating on full blast 24/7 and the windows open

BL, you will need some rest and peace and quiet for a couple of days.
A bigger job than expected on roof. Thank goodness for the good weather.
